Blood is not cold yet... & politics has already started. Apparently Congress has called for a bandh on Monday. Unless political parties unite in their fight against naxals... this menace can never be eliminated. State govt headed by BJP is taking on the naxals at Chattisgarh.. & naxals attack Congress leadership. Result of this is quite simple.... Congress will exploit this to gain popularity in the state & BJP will go on back foot. Naxals will breathe easy... politics wins, people lose!!

We just got hit, big time.

News reports state that nearly a 1000 naxal fighters moved in under the cover of dense foliage and attacked the convoy.

From what I have gathered:-

1) While the convoy was well protected there was no reconnoitering done, which is standard procedure even when lesser functionaries visit the area.

2) The CAPF personnel were curiously absent.

3) Severe intelligence failure on the part of the state agencies and the police.


From my father's brief, he has served in the Sukma area extensively:-

When he was there it was yet to be demarcated as a separate district proper, it was treated as a "block". During his tenure there he observed the CAPFs trying to use hepters for aerial surveillance but the dense foliage rendered any such action futile. Densely forested area with the only one serviceable main road..easy target in the past and difficult to monitor. Population of the area is around 1.2-1.5 lakh tops.

These are the same people who use to run Salwa Judum.They deserve this for all the crimes they have done.

I am taling about past few years buddy .

Do you know Para military forces do not get same compensation as army ,??

Heck they don;t even get same benefits .

They bleed for this country but no one cares about them .

More paramilitary forces are killed in an Year by maoists than Armymen by external forces .

Don't know how much army soldier gets as compensation but crpf guys are also given good amount of money....in dantewada attack back in april 2010 when 71 crpf soldiers were killed in maoist attack...2 of them were my relatives...and their family got not less than 50 lakhs rupess for each from central govt and bihar govt and other organisations plus some clerical Job to one's son and another's younger brother.......ofcourse money can't fulfil their loss but atleast it helped their family members in their difficult times..

And few days back some posters were saying Naxal menace is being weakened. Wake up guys, we need full scale military operations and need to bulldoze them to ground, just like punjab militancy was crushed. Should have learnt lessons from Dantewada. But will the govt wake up now when their own have been killed?

2. Full Scale Military Options like Lanka, using every resource at hand & again diminish the boundaries b/w our own Citizen & Naxals & than after the war is over, fight it out in UN against the US resolutions of HR abuse.

You seem to have lot of hope sir. But if we know our politicians right then the following will happen.

If the maoists took prisoners esp. Congi leaders then
1) expect many maoists to be released in a deal to get these Congis back.
2)CRPF Operation will be ceased
3) Govt will sign some kind of deal of ceasefire on Maoist terms
4) Maoist will get time to rest and recover and hit back hard after 6 months and year.
5) Since this is a Congi Govt they are going to lie about many of these things.

It's useless as you can see in Tirah valley the TTP badly mauled the Pakistan Army despite the PA being backed by intense Air strikes and heavy artilley.
Dozens of Pakistani troops incl.SSG are dead.

Spot on! But...just saw Ajit Jogi on telly blaming BJP govt for not providing adequate security & calling for a bandh on monday to protest against state govt. No mention or blame towards naxals though! Just goes to show where does their priorities lie!

Maoist rebels kill 17 in central India ambush: police

RAIPUR, India — Heavily-armed Maoist rebels on Saturday killed 17 people, including 12 local Congress leaders, after ambushing a convoy in a remote tribal belt of central India, a top police officer said.
"We can confirm 17 deaths. Among those who have been killed are five policemen. The rest are all leaders of the state Congress unit," Rajinder Kumar Vij, the chief of anti-naxal operations of Chhattisgrah state, told AFP.

Salwa Judum had no right to exist.They exacerbated whole Maoist problem.Did countless human right abuses while state stood back and silently watched.Salwa judum broke all laws in Dantewada district and became vigilantes who assert the right to control, intimidate and punish anyone they consider to be a suspected Naxalite.Cases of murder, loot, arson, rape and other violence and atrocities by Salwa Judum go unreported. The Government did not accept responsibility for the actions of the Salwa Judum ‘activists’, On the contrary it sponsored, encouraged, promoted and assured them full state protection and granted them impunity to operate as an extra-legal authority within the district. The Maoists also retaliated with attacks on camps, SPOs and police. According to State government’s own figures, Salwa Judum has only intensified the violence from both sides.Call me what ever you want but,I'll have no sympathy for these scums.
