What's new

Congratulations Pakistan!!!! First Football win in Asian games since 1974

. .
Yup, it's just a matter of time, if you have the resources and will :victory1: Now it's up to East Asian teams to keep improving too, or they will get left behind. Same for Pakistan, India et al. If folks from that neck of the woods ever fell in love w/ football the way they do cricket, wooow....

Btw saw some clips of Vietnamese celebrations after their quarterfinal win against Syria, it was bananas :flame:Reminded me of SK celebrations during the '02 WC; will admit to some jealousy, wish I was there haha
Just 2 more wins until military exemption, Korea Fighting!:victory:

Yup I think South East Asian teams are getting better now. Indonesia though lost the game due to 2 penalty kick given by the Australian referee to Uni Emirate Arab in quarter final. I wonder why an Australian can be a referee in Asian games :cuckoo:

Talking about South Korea, you have one player played in Totenham, it is a big advantage and I think overall South Korean is still considered as the favorite team. :yes4:

Congratulations. I hope football becomes a thriving sports in the subcontinent.

Well done!!!!.

Finally. I cant stand cricket and their drunkard/drug/prostitute engaging players who are just filth. Sorry, I have seen them first hand and have no tolerance for that sport; it has hijacked money, time and sponsorships from other sports which are excellent.

Lets hope the masses understand.

One more match to go! (against Japan, always Japan...) I hope Vietnam wins the bronze, they've been such a feel-good story :toast_sign:(no offense to UAE folks, that was a tough loss against Japan).

One other player worth keeping an eye on is Lee Seung Woo, has 3 goals so far. He used to be part of FC Barca's youth academy, was looking good but then there was an issue about illegal underage signing or something, so development got halted. Kid is still nifty tho, fearless and creative (currently w/ Hellas Verona in Italy).

He used to be something of a punk, but he's been maturing a bit: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...essi-who-had-to-leave-barca-to-further-career

Btw Indonesia has been on gold medal tear! :o: Up to 30 now, very nice
