Orion is a manned multi-purpose spacecraft. It would be for deep space exploration ( beyond the Low Earth Orbit ) like Mars, Moon, Moons of Mars, asteroid... and return.

it's different from space shuttle missions or space stations ... used to be for Low Earth Orbit,

Avionic
Landing
