What's new

Congrats to Pakistanis and Indians.

nope.............turn ur statement around:agree:

@janon

I like to maintain ambiguity and play devil's advocate. You can only learn from other people by pushing the wrong buttons. This is part of the reason why i am more likely to engage newbies than older members - they come with raw and fresh ideas.

OK, so you won't comment on whether the sentiments you expressed earlier are genuinely held or not. Regardless of that, I agree with what you said, so no ambiguity from my part.:cheers:

I will only believe in that BS prize when they award people like Eidhi over Obama! Just my 2 cents!
:tsk:
I wouldnt put much thought into the politics of Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize, but IMHO, this year's peace prize was totally justified. Both are tireless workers for the upliftment of underprivileged children. Malala is indeed a beacon of hope and inspiration for all the girls not only in our parts of the world, but everywhere else. Its a wonder that she has the courage to speak out against atrocities after what she went through and speaks and works for the right to education for the girl child! I also agree that Abdul Sattar Edhi is a very deserving candidate and I really hope his efforts, social activism and philanthropy is duly recognized by the Nobel Prize Committee.

I have no problem with Malala getting the prize but I do have problem with people uplifting her...She wasnt the only one who was shot by Taliban...no one talks about the other 2 girls who were also shot with her...no one took them out of the country for treatment

2ndly I read of another 2 girls about her age who were also promoting women education and as far as I know they havent been shot by the Taliban and maybe that is why they are not receiving media coverage...

It is this sudden interest in 1 girl and rise to fame that disgusts me as she is not the only one but highlighted as though she is....and also other people's efforts (of the other 2 girls) isnt given a drop of attention....

Though Maybe Malala's effort is noble,....but if the prize is noble than the efforts of Edhi should be out of the world ....he has gone way out of his way for more than 30 yrs of his life....while one who does something for 1-5 yrs gets a peace prize while his efforts are not promoted at the same scale is injustice and nothing less...

Nonetheless, I congratulate both the winners....
