After that a transition government led by Hadi (the former Vice President) took reign and was well on road to improve Yemen. Including giving autonomy for the first time to various provinces in Yemen (South especially).

When KSA and the Arab coalition acted against the Houthi terrorist cult (who were plotting and openly talking about attacking KSA, its interests in Yemen and setting up a terrorist nest in Yemen) in late March 2015, Saleh joined hands with his former enemies, the Houthi terrorist cult, thinking that he could regain his power and influence after having been ousted.
Now this decision proved to be catastrophic not only for Yemen, the Yemeni people but Saleh himself and his family.
Saleh and his party had disagreements with the Houthi terrorist cult (naturally since they were mortal enemies for 2 decades and have totally different ideologies) in recent months and this culminated 2 weeks ago. Now the fighting will continue but Saleh and allied parties and tribes are likely to work against the Houthi terrorist cult.
This serves the Arab coalition as it will weaken the Houthi terrorist cult and hopefully end the civil war in Yemen quicker. The ones that are interested in fueling the conflict are the Farsi Mullah terrorist regime which does not take a genius to figure out why that is. This is why a sensible Yemeni, in particular nationalists, understand who the real trojan horse is and enemy despite the ongoing war and civilians having died like in every conflict. This is also what Yemenis who are against outside influence will tell you in person individually and not within a group. The current Yemeni military is weak, divided etc. and it cannot alone deal with the Houthi terrorist cult. They need outsiders help whether they like it or not. Nobody likes such a thing but sometimes it is a necessary evil.
BTW let me introduce you to the self-proclaimed Houthi terrorist cult "president" that only the Farsi Mullah terrorist regime recognizes in the entire world and their foreign terrorist lapdog servants composed of cannon fodder.

Great intellectuals, highly capable people with a very long track record of success! What a joke! The sooner such individuals are sent to hell in not only Yemen but the entire Arab world, the better for everyone.
Now please tell me here, lastly, what interests KSA would have in having a weak and unstable neighbor that we share close ties with on numerous fronts and share an almost 2000 km (!) long border with? On the other hand what do you think the interests of a Farsi Mullah terrorist regime not even neighboring Yemen, has of interests if not to fuel the conflict and try to weaken KSA, UAE, the Arab coalition and our allies in Yemen? Which party can relatively easily, without much consequence, stir trouble up?
The Houthi terrorist cult is not a victim, they are an serial aggressor, who got what they deserve and much more is to come. They will be ousted from any significant position in Yemen and any important area of Yemen. They control less than 10% of Yemen nowadays. Back to their mountain caves in Sa'dah I say. KSA might do well in investing in massive khat production (industrial scale) in Sad'ah to make that terrorist cult permanently occupied 24/7 with the chewing. Or switch to opium which does not even need 10% of the water that khat needs.
