I just want one till I get the laptop fixed...

I think you can try these fixes too. might be these can help you.

1. If still no display after removing ram and power supply is also working then. try to remove your HDD and then start your laptop can you see its display. some its because of sata controller failure so no display. If you have two rams then try one by one.

2. Incase still no display but cpu fan works fine then most probably issue is with BIOS.

3. Some times its because of hardware failure too. if possibly you can open back side of your laptop try to remove your WIfi and Bluetooth adapters, cd rom or any hardware which is connected to mother baord except ram, graphics and cpu :D. then try to start. if any display.

4. Second last option is if you only want data or software. if your both laptop are of same league or capable enough to run same windows from UNI A . then take our HDD from Uni A and replace it with UNI B and most probably it will boot up from that HDD. if both are having totally different specs, then try boot fixing software using USB so they will make your HDD bootable for UNI B Laptop.

5. Last option is take out hard drive(HDD) from UNI A. buy a portable sata to usb adapter. connect your HDD to tat and use it as a external drive. incase that software dont need previous windows system files then most probably it will work.

in last pray to ALLAH.

well i am 99% sure one of these will b work out. if you play it well. :) best of luck.
I need some screwdriver for removing that HDD....i tried with the RAM removing didnt see any changes tried other screen didnt see changes so yea will try with HDD....damn I need to figure out what I am majoring in sometimes it is some software programs for bioinformaticians sometimes it is hardware stuff for computer IT people! Wonder how much time I give my own field :cray:

But yea thanks...next q is tablet....I have been wanting a tablet just for fun coz both my laptops (personal and institute's) are filthy heavy and I cant carry both when I go to another country...I am allowed only 1 hand luggage which is not even the problem but in every institute I go to....It is usually up a hill so dragging an extra large luggage (I move for moths so need summer and winter clothes with sometimes my pots and pans) plus 1 laptop in my backpack with my phone and wallets (yea cards and stuff for different countries one would think I am spy) up the hill half kills me!

I haven't bothered reading what others are suggesting or have suggested it already. My username should be enough credibility for me to speak on this topic.

Tip 1) Try attaching an external monitor using VGA OR HDMI which ever your computer supports.
2) If tip one fails try to open the bottom panel of your laptop and reach for your RAM and try it to insert it back again.
3)Try the basic trouble shooting, like using discharge current by holding power button for 10 seconds and also try removing the hard disk.
4) Now this is the best and final resort, to get your data, try an external HDD reader, pop out your HardDisk from your laptop place it on the connector and access and backup all your data.
