Comparing Ownership of Appliances and Vehicles in India and Pakistan

read my post again i already told most of the cars in pakistan are exported i.e daihatsu mira, toyota vitz ,premio, etc etc which are one of the most selling cars in the country but they are not produce in pakistan they are imported due to less duties they are cheaper then which are present in pakistan comparatively (due to monopoly by 3 companies pakistan lack in production for those cars but going to change soon cause in 2018 about 5-6 car manufacturer will start their production ) the whole topic is how many people posses appliances in which pakistan stands higher then india (by sources which i have post in my previous posts ) if not better but not worst in income average pakistani earn better then average indian (link posted in previous post)

Please read my post
I am not quoting car production but car sales statistics,

O mere Keyboard commando agar import hui bhi to sell to hogi hi na,

Exported or Domestically produced, for owner ship one has to buy cars.

It dosent matter whether exported or domestically produced, Indian buy 10 times more cars than Pakistanis despite having 6 times population

Please tell me what is 2016 car sales in Pakistan (Produced + Imported) according to your sources

lol man here have a look
https://www.pakistantoday.com.pk/2011/12/24/in-karachi-16562-more-vehicles-hit-the-roads-each-month/
about 200,000 increases every year ONLY IN KARACHI for pakistan values are different

It's well known fact when Pakistanis are inching to visit India but visa isn't granted, they just go to Tharparkar to get the feel of how average Indian live. Tharparkar is becoming northern areas of Pakistan.

16562 Includes primary/ secondary/ tertiary market/ there, there are peer to peer transactions, vehicles moving from one city to another.
Moreover :
16562 Vehicles not cars, 16562 = (CARS + BIKES+ 3 WHEELERS + TRUCKS + Busses + TEMPOS + Commercial Vehicles + Other Vehicles)

Bangalore has 1/3rd of Karachi Population, there are 20000 brand new cars are sold and over 25,000 used cars are sold per month. And >50,000 brand new bikes per month

What I am asking is Domestic Cars Sales of Pakistan per year (2015 or 2016).

source???

please correct your own figures
india produce 3.22 million passenger vehicles, Two-wheeler produced 18.5 m
http://www.knowindia.net/auto.html
vs
pakistans 429,836 passenger cars produce in 2016, 2.2 million bikes produce
pakistan 448,734 passenger cars sold in 2016
http://www.pama.org.pk/statistical-information/sales-production/monthly-sales-production

if you take population ratio which is approx 1:7
now take those values then the result is approx 1:7 so amount of cars produce in india and amount of cars produce in pakistan is the same accordingly to their population

I Agree with India's Figure

I guess you are referring to this http://www.pama.org.pk/images/stories/pdf/production-sales.pdf

P11.png

It says cumulative car production and sales for July to March (that is 3 quarters)

Production is 143,317
Sales is 139,570

Data extrapolated for full year (adding 33% )
Production : ~190000
Sales : ~ 185000
AM I MISSING SOMETHING

Anyways going by numbers you quoted
3.22 million for 1.3 billion and .4 million for 200 million, the ratio favors India

Have you ever heard of something like HDI? Well, it takes 3 indicators to value standard of living Percapita income, Literacy and Life expectancy, and guess what Pakistan has the lowest standard of living by this indicators in South Asia.
Secondly, regarding the article don't really know what the source is. Domestic car sales in India is about 10 times more than that of Pakistan, don't really know from where than 6% figure for both countries came from.

Do you think India has better HDI?? Really? A country with the highest poverty and the highest number of people living without proper sanitation has the bestest HDI in South Asia? :D :D :D

Domestic car sales in India is 10 times more because population of India is also 7 times high and India being the cheapest country has the advantage of exporting vehicles too. Secondly, Pakistanis import lots of vehicles every year from japan (re-conditioned cars). And the source is Credit Suisse Wealth Report which states that an average Pakistani is 20% more wealthier than an average Indian. Read the entire article first.

ok tell me when was the last time you came to india ?

and car and other appliences prices are low in india cause we make them well most of them in india try doing some research for a change

I never visited India nor want to. If you have ever studied economics than manufacturing something in your own country don't make it cheap like cheaper than half. Nano is priced at $2000 in India while the cheapest car in Pakistan is priced at $7020. We don't have a car like Nano but still car ownership is equal.

Yeah, I can see you manufacture Arjun MBT yourself and this is the reason it is still in testing phase and is priced so much :D :D :D

well looks like you do not have enough knowledge of taxation and other rules in india and ground realities in your nation :haha:

1. cheapest car in your nation is 7020 due to very high trade & tax duties and other indirect taxes as your nation has worlds highest percentage of indirect taxes and that your industreial calss is selling you old 1980s era technology in name of todays technology and rates ... well its your problem not ours :sarcastic:

2. we just dont make TATA NANO but host of other vehicels like two wheelers from 97cc to 397cc from Bajaj, TVS,M&M, Hero & royal enefield are big 5 indian giants but also Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Piaggio while in cars almost all like dailamer benz, BMW, AUDI, WV, FIAT, Suzuki & Toyota, Nissan, Renault and many others are making bulk of there engines , gearboxes , and other spares here in india itself along with whole body thus bringing the costs really down

moral of the story thats why rates of cars are so low in india that we do not imort complety built units or assmble CKD kits in india rather we make most parts and them make complete cars only critical parts like fuel management and engine controls or some sensitive tech parts come from the mother nation

3. now coming back to TATA NANO well its price starts at 2.83 laks indian rupees and its almost 64.15 INR tyo a dollar now do your maths while at almsot 25 thousand more you get the latest model of 1 litre suzuki alto with all the bells & whistels (power steering & AC & seet belts are standard in all indian cars with BS-V emission norms)

hope you can use google to know what this all is about since you are a student of economics i guess it wuold be a good case study for a future project for you

I didn't knew that you don't have common sense to read & understand the point of discussion so let me make it very clear for you as I make for people without common sense :D :D

1. I was trying to tell you that cars are heavily priced in Pakistan & not India but still car ownership is equal.

2. Your technology of manufacturing heavy vehicles is so good that in decades you haven't been able to produce Arjun MBT properly and I would not like to comment on your Tejas because it will really take the discussion some where else.

3. Where is math involes in tata nano? Bachay, I quoted the initial price and I have no interest in searching that crap nano we have better replacement for it and that 1980 suzuki is going to be replaced by alto and cultus is already replaced by a better car this year so you don't worry about our 1980 cars because we have replaced them. We have re-conditioned cars here too and I drive a re-conditioned fully loaded car with a very good AC because Pakistanis can afford it.

I am a student of economics and the point of discussion was not that mini nano, it was worth of purchasing power and ownership of appliances which is high in Pakistan compare to India. Credit Suisse Wealth Report stated that average Pakistan adult purchasing power is 20% more than Indian.

The difference in taxation is more complicated than you might think but it is not your problem because your media is too shit in spreading fake news like they were spreading recently about kulbhushan yadhev execution penalty halt by International Court :D :D

Pakistanis have exempted lots of things from tax like medicines, books etc. We have subsidized electricity for tube wells, urea prices etc so you better search first and than come to me.

Petrol Price are above $1 per litre in India while its $0.71 per litre in Pakistan isn't it a big difference? So as i told you earlier this is more complicated than you think kid. Subsidies given to difference things in 2016-17 budget was more than Rs 140 bn (federal budget) only. We take more money from some products and subsidize other and we take more tax from some products and make tax-free the other one. We Pakistan Federal govt is giving Rs 6 bn subsidy annually on wheat to Gilgit-Baltistan 1.8 million people and you indians are giving pullet guns to innocent kashmiris.

1.cars & bikes and other goods are cheap in india as compared to pakistan cause lower inderct taxes and lower dollar to rupee ratio and lower raw material costs , lower electricity and tarnapotaion costs and lesser load of beurocracy on the industry & skilled labour at cheaper rates

2. as or cars like TATA NANO or TATA TIAGO or many other indian SUVs made by indian manufacturers like M&M you have no idea about so better not talk about it you and your nation are not even in that league :haha:

3. now as for Arjus well its a perfect case of corruption in defnce procurment in millitarry beurocracy of indian armed forces and MOD baboons who delliberetelli sabotaged so they can make money on russain T90 pirchase here i have twi charts to verrify that

and the main reason why MaNo government formulated the new defnce procurment policy and made an amendemnt in constitution for the same

now buying cars and appliences is not a big deal and our middle class alone is more then twice your entire population which buys such appliences or bikes and potentially in a decade will be buying such cars so since you are a student of economics i will advise you not to follow people like @RiazHaq cause by following such people pakistan is where it is today better follow people like abdus salam and Dr Parvez hoodbhoy

1. Completely False. The main source fuel is priced 50% more than Pakistan in India so how can transportation cost be lesser than Pakistan? Labour is cheap in India because India is the poorest nation of the world.

2. As I have told you earlier we import most of cars because our purchasing power is more compare to your nation and we have SUVs here also Honda Vezel, Honda BRV, Toyota Fortuner, Lexus, Toyota Prado, Land Cruiser etc. Where are you living man?? You don't have complete washrooms and telling me about SUV's?? :D :D :D

3. Arjun MBT failed due to corruption?? :D :D Our defence budget is 4-5 times low than yours but still we managed to successfully pursue our Al Khalid and JF-17 but you still lag behind and is dependent on T-90. Tejas and Arjun MBT failed technically, money was not the problem and how can money/corruption be the problem if India can sign $9 bn Rafale deal with France?

I don't need to follow anyone as I have eyes to see and ear to hear. Credit Suisse Wealth Report is not operated by Riaz Haq which says an average Pakistani adult is 20% more richer than average Indian adult. An Indian used to work for me online and he openly told me what his income was and my brother worked for an Indian and that Indian wasn't able to pay him and than we immediately cancelled that project so don't try to confuse me because it won't work with me.

I="my2cents, post: 9461029, member: 38401"]By your argument Pakistan should have low penetration of Fridges and washing machines. Pakistan has endemic power shortages and women are less likely to be educated. Pakistan defies these stereotypes suggests that the assumptions are wrong.
True, if you were to use those reason fro pakistan the penetration would be far lower. And data is not accurate.

To all the Indians on this thread. Pakistan's economy is better than India. Their science is way ahead. As a result of this, their ability to purchase is much higher. Which is why the entire world is looking to setup factories in Pakistan and not India.

Give respect to an old man, who is frustrated. Say Amen and move on.
The old man is pulling data from 2011 ICE 360° report, thats a 6 years old data ....and India has cahnged alot since then and also has vechile ownership
