Comparing modern Western fighters

How can people compare 5 gen with 4 and 4.5 gen and 4 and 4.5 gen beat 5th gen fighter. Its laughable. and most important part is that Gripen beat F22 and that even can't beat F16-60 block.

Gripen has done OK on Red Flag vs F-15 and F-16s,
but I think that the F-22 is underrated as well.
The comment from Gripen pilotes exposed to the F-22 was.
"It works as intended"

There is a factor missing. Being able to program the software of the plane yourself.

The author is obviously an avowed fan of the "Fighter Mafia"'s ideas. Go figure.

If they had had their way, the USAF would have been flying planes similar to the (abandoned) Swiss ALR Piranha instead of the F-15 and whatnot.

Decades ago, they might very well have had a point but today (and also looking at the evolution of other non American airforces or the combat history of the F-15 for example or the current state of radar tech) they come across as cranks more than anything else IMO.

I understand the flak the F35 gets for now, but any set of metrics, however arbitrary and flawed, should show the F22 #1 by a mile.

There is no way to rank the JSF, seeing how any specs are only speculative.
