What's new

Companies to compete, US-style, to develop armoured carriers for army

^^haha...Israeli hai...

BTW this is the best looking ( and probably best in every terms ) out there...

Becoz its based on Merkava Mark IV tank and it costs more than a t-90. :pop:

T-90 -46.5 tonnes

Arjun -58.5 tonnes

Namer -60 tonnes

:rofl: Jha you want it to be in IA??IA didnt accpet Arjun sighting it was heavier and now you want 60 tonne Namer in IA

winner :D

Can Thar support a 60 tonne vehicle??

We have a lot of potential just need to give a right direction with a specific approach at the end of GOI.... Results wll surely amaze us ALL.

Can Thar support a 60 tonne vehicle??

Its not the weight that matters. It is the pressure exerted on the ground by the tracks of the vehicle over the ground.Increasing size of the contact area on the ground (by the tank) in relation to the weight decreases the ground pressure.Decreased the ground pressure increases the flotation, allowing easier passage of the vehicle over the soft terrain..

Namer: 0.83kg/sq.cm

Arjun : 0.84 kg/sq.cm

T 90S : 0.87 kg/sq.cm

So heavier Arjun and Namer could be more mobile than lighter T 90.

I know i know not likely but still certainly many can be procured :azn:

Abhay is currently being developed by theDRDO’s Ahmednagar-based Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE). A mild steel prototype of the Abhay has been built, and is presently under testing for proving automotive systems. The pre-production prototype was rolled out in June 2005. Development of the first armoured prototype is also in progress.

What is this man?

A golf cart?

What really looks like a golf cart for Batman is really a compact urban combat armored electric-vehicle by Metaltech Motor Bodies called the Anti-Terrorist Assault Cart (ATAC). The ATAC was unveiled at an Indian arms fair, which was inspired by the Nov. 2008 terror attacks.

The ATAC’s main objective is to be able to maneuver down hallways and fit into elevators inside buildings that are under attack. Metaltech claims it can shield two fully-armed soldiers from small-arms fire and grenade blasts while offering four ports from where they can return fire.

The ATAC weighs less than 1,100 pounds and has a top speed of 15 mph, which should be plentiful for hotel corridors. On a full-charge, the ATAC can provide 6 hours of driving. Metaltech has set the price of the ATAC at around $43,000 USD.
