Do you know how much of the Pak-Afghan-Iran border has been fenced so far? It is a bit late but stilp a very good step in the right direction.

It is said to be complete in December.
But I think. It's impossible.
Not because we don't have skill but due to the lack of funds. If there are funds they can do it in minutes.
Also population living on zero point has to be moved.
But everything is possible.
Till now they are successful in dealing only 200 km in kp and balochistan all together and my guess is quite pessimist.
It is the need of the hour.
Besides the quality of the border checkpost is really bad.
Need good infrastructure to monitor the border through cameras and sensors too. Only then this fence would be beneficial.
Looks very flimsy tough.
Anyone who completes should deserve something special.
Please we need special border guard and monitoring system along with fence too.
You can stop 99 percent terrorism, by fencing and monitoring. Use of modern methods, such as biometric system, polio cards and full track with visa check. Only then visitors from across the borders be allowed. Ban all illegal cars.
You would get calm like nowhere in country.

Iran border is other then this 2250 km pak Afghan border.
This project is only at pak Afghan border.
Last year when army chief visited Iran, we see new gates constructed at pak Iran border at various check points.
They vowed to seal their border too. Not much news though. If media get time of nawaz sheriff only then they can focus on this. Intact it is media job to pressurize the people in power to fence it as soon as they can.
But Iranians are very strict at this. They kill anyone entering illegally sadly.
I think they must have sealed it.
No updates.
Iran and Pakistan has no conflict on any inch of border so that's a huge relief.

Great & I saw the video clip of it as well. What PA really needs to do is monitor & protect its border by using armed drones & snipers.

during an interview, commanding officer was asked about cost..
his answer was crore rupees for each km....he also divided the cost as 50% material and 50% logistic and labour cost

so if thats true than whole boarder should cost 2300km=2300 crore, forts are seprate and should cost around 1-2 million per forte=250 million = 25-50 crore

thus whole project will cost around 30 billion rupees so its doable..problem is lack of poltical will and funding that some people in high places get for keeping refugees and boarder un seal..

we are talking about a trillion dollars opoid industry
