If IK wants peace talks, why is KPK Police the leading force in the fight back against the TTP? They have so far been the most instrumental civilian force in dismantling terror networks in KPK.

Nothing significant KPK Police did. The Army did its part in FATA and peace came naturally to neighbours.

Before the operation and even before the APS attack, hundreds of militants were freed from Jails in Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu and the Army had stated that it provided intelligence reports to the Police.

Is there any banned group who has offices in Karachi / Sindh or in other part of Pakistan as in punjab? I remember in 90s ppl used to come to mosques and give speech about jihad and joining their group... guess what it was in Islamabad where I lived in 90s.

But I think police can do operation in punjab with backing of rangers if needed. Police is capable but it's leadership who isn't sincere. And we all know how Shahbaz Sharif get rid of criminals who can be traced back

Punjab may not be perfect but at least progress of action, peace, and prosperity is way better than in Sindh, KPK, and Baluchistan.

While militants in Baluchistan are linked to ethnic clashes between Pukhtuns, Baloch and Hazaras, there is also a very serious separatist movement. Basically the people controlling these terrorist activities are living abroad and you can't do much.

In KPK, you have a party whose leader is dying to have peace talks with Taliban and even treats their patients in hospitals.

Sindh is pretty much everything in one shell. Ranging from Sindhi, Pukhtun, Baloch, Punjabi, Mohajir clashes to armed political parties, to foreign interference. The government sitting at the moment is saviour for every terrorist. They had allowed anyone to do extortion and take over economic institutions.

That is no reason not to go after south punjab terrorists that are easy to destroy (except it will have an impact on PML-N vote bank). The thing is that the Islamic parties (that are pro-PML-N) have ties with these terrorists and their supporters (amongst the average voter) silently approve of that. Military action against these terrorists will make them anti-Islami parties and also anti-PML-N. And PML-N in the next election will be facing a tough competition with new comers such as PTI and PAT etc, so they need every last vote they can get.

These "Islamic votes" are votes that don't ever change hands (islamists will never vote for any other party). And PML-N has a strong hold on these votes. Why would they risk losing their 100% confirmed votes ?

If they go ahead with Karachi-like operation in Punjab, during next election campaign, people/media in Punjab would be discussing the Punjab operation rather than PML-N's highly questionable infrastructure projects, which is bad for PML-N's future.

Thats cheap. More than 100-120 million people live in Punjab obviously no matter how well they control crime like domestic murder, robberies, etc the numbers will always be more than other provinces.

I am talking in terms of %, not total numbers my friend. Almost 80% increase in crime compared to 2014, while Balochistan and KPK are the only ones who have seen crime reducing in terms of %. As i have said before, PML-N performance between 2008-2013 was better compared to now.

Did the Punjab Police kill Malik Ishaq head of LEJ and many of his men for fun ? Who are you trying to fool here ? Obviously there is some progress.

So Malik Ishaq is the only militant roaming in Punjab? What about the head of Lal Masjid, and the other 58 banned organizations operating in Punjab? I am not trying to fool anyone, you're the only one yourself who is being fooled. 58 banned organizations and only one head killed, SERIOUSLY????

I'm not saying there are no terrorists in South Punjab. I'm sure there are but generally, generally, the region has better grip of law and order and prosperity than provinces like Balochistan and Sindh who are its neighbours !

Indeed, they have such an amazing grip on law and order, this is why 80% increase in crime in Punjab. Lahore which used to be such a safe city has seen a double digit increase in street crime my friend.

And you're talking about Punjab, why don't you take a trip down to South Punjab. Layya, DG Khan, Lodhran, Rajanpur etc. There is no such thing as Law and Order, its Jungle Rule. There is no such thing as presence of Police.

So I told you before your propaganda post was a lie. A deal has been reached between the Rangers and the Police, initiated by the CM. The CM wanted the Elite force to be involved so that they can learn and in the future, they can react quickly on these kind of operations, as they are not trained right now. So now, this common sense based request was agreed upon by the Rangers as they want the local law enforcement trained enough to take care of things, and not stretch the rangers too thin. The next thing you know, people like you, who've called military to act like a big daddy in sit-ins, etc, and soon, IK will be calling the military to change children's diapers for God's sake.

People don't have a clue about the tasks of the military around two war fronts with the terrorists. These silly politicians think the military is just available for the smallest shiit IK wakes up imagining one night!!

Not cool. That day may come when our police will be strong and efficient but it is not this day. The Punjab police, despite that malik ishtiaq killing is largely ineffective and have allowed crime to spiral out... An example is that skp had a great dig Iftikhar cheema. He used extra judicial killings and encounters to the highest degree to lower crime rate in skp. He also killed kashif gangster who had actually made a board outside his area stating ' police are not allowed' ... Crime rate in skp came very low... After that he was transfered to IG motorway and the new dig and dpo are incompetent Buffoons. Crime rate is up again..

The meaning of the story is that we will always get great hard working individuals here and there but their work will he stopped due to the police being largely inefficient and ineffective.. Huge police reforms are required and in the mean time ranger operations are the need of the hour as well.
