CM-400AKG: A tough job for the Indian Navy

You think wer'e discussing the topic like gentlemen or drunks at a 0 star dhaba? :smart:

This must be your specialty, speaking out of your backside and trolling.
You've been reported, now to wait until your name shows up in pink.

Guys, I know that JF-17 radar has not much range

I also know that a single missile cant destroy the whole carrier

but think about Saab Erieye

A Saab Erieye escorted by 4 thunders

each thunder will be equipped with 2 AKGs and 2 SD-10s

total CM-400 = 8

which is enough for a carrier along with its defensive frigates

so, ready for the battle

Oh yeah, how could I ever forget that CM-400AKG is a 'fire and forget' missile that has its own seeker and doesn't need midcourse target update-Bull ****.And if that's how yot wanna expend your missiles,PLEASE do it.Our IN wouldn't have to do anything on their own.
Buddy, the small seeker on the missile can track the target from very close range only-like 15-20 km.And if you launch your 'carrier killer' without midcourse target update then your CM-400AKG will definitely become a true 'Fire and Forget' missile in the sence that if you fire it in your mentioned way, then you can FORGET about hitting your target.

The initial coordinates of the large slow target are given by AWACS or other long range survailance asset.
From firing to final impact the missile should take less than 5 minutes..
An ACC moving at 30 Knots would have travelled 2-3 miles during this time..
A seeker can make that much course correction wothout need of external input.

Ever heard of a 135km BVR or a SAM missile Barak 8 with a radar system provides 360 degree coverage and the missiles can take down an incoming missile as close as 500 meters away from the ship.

Dont worry , soon you will find South china sea having supersonic 300 km anti ship missiles after 3-4 years .when all indian ships , army armed with it.

then your ships will be sitting ducks and you ship will not dare to came close to 300 km from Vietnam forget ruling south china sea.

Now thats called humiliation .

Like your govt. news paper feel humiliated when india visited japan , or when indian ship travel in south china sea ;)

Your news paper didnt told what happened after they warn india ship not drill in south china sea; )

Lo0oOoOL on this indian :omghaha: abhe teri murgee nay unday deay nahi or tu choOzay ginna shuruu ho gaya ...

True. It isn't a strategy employed by anyone as their primary, and I'm not saying it should be.
I've just said, that it could be a possibility and could be used in case the enemy aircraft guiding the missile is being intercepted or has been intercepted. It is a fire and forget missile in fact, meaning that it does not need guidance from the enemy a/c.
But you and the earlier member have misunderstood what I'm saying, I'm not saying it simply a pot shot to vector towards a last known location. It could rely on it's own INS throughout the flight phase, then use on board radar for terminal. This is just a possibility, it is a fire and forget ASM, hence I assumed it would have such capability. In fact, the Exocet employs similar fire and forget system.

INS is not unique to your Exocet or CM-400AKG only!!All missiles including Taurus KEPD 350,Scalp,Brahmos,Yakhont,C-802,C-803,Agni,Prithvi,Shaheen,Ghauri,DF you just name it.All of them have some sort of INS.Heck, even WW II era German V1 flying bombs and V2 rockets had premitive INS using mechanical gyroscopes.
And the American Harpoons and AMRAAMs had INS too which they tried to use on your perceived method-that to launch the missile towards the heighest possible point the target may be,the missile would fly to that point based on the INS and then hopefully the missile seeker would get a lock on to the target.Believe me,it didn't work very good for them at all.You can ask gambit if you want.

Forget about hitting a carrier because it will be operating at least 500 km distance, what jf17+CM400AKG Can do is to try and hit one of the stealth frigates.

And what about radar of carrier???

What about aircraft it carries with itself??

.
so, what's the relation with my post???

relation is, if we really have k-100 novator it could be even more dangerous for your awac, barak 1 and barak 8 will be our counter weapon against CM400 if jf17 were successful in firing it towards our frigates.

Just a rookie question, I want to know that the subs, frigates .. etc of the Carrier battle group, do they all move together or maintain any healthy distance such as 20-25 KMs??

There will be a healthy distance for sure, how much distance I don't know, I think it could vary according to strategy, location, number of ship , threat perception etc.
