A better way to check country's progress is the Failed State Index, which in addition to economic indicators also includes Political and Social indicators.

This is not about Pakistan Jagjit. Poverty is a problem in India and that has had ramifications in terms of malnutrition, hunger and mortality.

Pakistan is in a better or worse position is immaterial as a rank of 61 is not something to be proud of. India is taking large scale steps towards improving the lives of people and the number of people who are coming out of poverty every year is indeed motivating.

However, the education about calorie consumption per day, the importance of greens, vegetables and fruits is not something that people take seriously. Poverty afflicted families where food is the major expenditure will cut down on calories and variety of food in leaner phases. This will show up in such findings. I don't want to disprove/dismiss the findings as I am in no professional capacity to do it.
