Clerics thrash news crew for drinking water in Ramadhan

Such mullahs should be sent to mental hospital and inject tolerance

Pakistan should make an official mental hospital to brain wash them with tolerance

Beating up people for drinking water is bang out of order, the police really need to come down on people enforcing their own version of justice on other civilians.

Saying that, drinking water in a masjid during fasting times takes the biscuit. If you really need to drink, do it somewhere people don't see you. Stupid thing to do.

Roza is between God/Allah and his worshiper mulvi b()()$@ has nothing to do with it ;)

something doesnt add up here. why would a news crew go to a MOsque to drink water? pretty much can spend a few bucks to get can of cola or something and drink later?

.
wait.. sorry for a dumb question - even drinking water is banned?
also - isnt it supposed to be sweltering hot in that part of the world? what do those guys who HAVE to work in that heat do if they need to replenish some water in to their bodies just to stay sane?
no, nothing to drink or eat no matter how hot it is ... Well I am doing it from childhood ... I never loose my senses ...

I see many liberals as usual blaming on masjid and madaris.

The govt should investigate matter on merit and if crew truned out not fasting should be punished.

Going in masjid and drinking water openly in ramdan he was provoking and now a days media want any action which can give them ranking and highlight.

Media is going unchecked in Pakistan. They need to be brought under legal cover. They may air or publish anything without investigation or verification. It's a one sided story. View of those 'clerics' should also have been covered.

People are still drinking and eating in bazars during fasting hours, no one grabs them and slaps on their faces. Tribune needs to show this also.

What law?

The "ahtaram-e-ramzan" bill.

The view of the clerics is that they don't like to be tested in the month of testament. Only way they know how to take out this frustration is by beating people up.

Who are you ? Is it your responsiblity to make sure whether some one is fasting or not ? Everyone started will have to answer on their own on the day of judgement.

I'm not making apologies for mullahs, but the offender in question was drinking water in a mosque. No excuse for the thrashing, of course, but he should be cognizant that he was in mosque. He should've practiced some common sense.

I did some basic research (not very extensive) and couldn't find any corporal penalty under Sharia for breaking fast. The worst-case scenario seems to be that the person may have to perform expiation.

If a person forgets and eats something during his fast, he is not required to do anything and his fast is valid. The Prophet

said: “If anyone forgets that he is fasting and eats or drinks, he should complete his fast, as it is Allah who fed him and gave him to drink”. [Muslim] Another narration by Imam Ad-Daaraqutni

relates that making up (this day) is not compulsory. However, if one eats intentionally, he has committed a great sin and violated the sacredness of this month. Also, there is a severe threat that awaits him. The Prophet

said: “Whoever breaks the fast of Ramadan without having a sound reason or being ill, he could not make up for that day, even if he fasts the whole life”. [Al-Bukhari] However, Imam Ahmad, Ash-Shaafi’i, Sa’eed Ibn Al-Musayyib and Ash-Sha'bi and others are of the view that one should make up the day later, sincerely repent and seek forgiveness from Allah. Nonetheless, a group of Muslim scholars

believe that expiation is required for breaking the fast of any day of Ramadan without a legal reason. They say that one should fast for two months consecutively or feed sixty poor people, in addition to making up the day later with any of both forms of expiation

No mention of any other punishment that I could find.

Maulvis are also human beings like the cameramen and media persons and ordinary public. They may also go mad at anything. The media is an uncontrollable virus these days spreading chaos and disinformation by purpose to serve an agenda assigned to it by world-powers who happen to be Satanists residing in America, Israel and Europe by majority.

It's important to follow the golden rule that you shouldn't believe in anything unless it is verified.

Pakistan, for example, is quite peaceful, not worse than many places in the world. But the Satanic Zionist media of Pakistan and abroad is giving a twisted picture of this country, making every trivial matter a big issue. Dirty politics of dirty politicians has been brought to every home of this country through Zionist TV channels. And such things are causing psychological and physiological disorders to those who sit in front of TV for the talk shows along with creating uncertainty and restlessness on national level.

Media is making sure, Pakistanis stop believing in this country!
