'Clean Karachi' campaign to begin today

The point is that the federal government isn't responsible for waste management in the cities, but for this 2 week period the federal government is taking the onus on itself to clean the city and show how incompetent the provincial and local governments are. The federal government never set out to be the permanent waste managers of the city.

And before you blame Pakistanis, where is it justified that the city that pays the most tax has the smallest per capita budget amongst most cities in Pak. The slaves of interior Sindh keep voting for Bhutto and we Karachiites keep suffering.
Where did I talk about the federal government. I was referring to the local one.
If you fail to admit that most Pakistanis have no idea of how to keep their country clean and don’t throw trash anywhere they want. Then you’re more blind than a person who stared at the sun all day.
Thirdly, I know that it’s the idiotic goons that bring these useless PPP dumbasses into power. But aren’t they the same people I’m speaking of? The people Pakistan? Does Karachi not pay the most tax because it has the most businesses and people? Karachi’s people are not generally better or worse than the rest of Pakistan. There’s an equal amount of good and bad in it, just like the other cities.

.
You cant keep a city clean with out an industry supporting it imbeciles

It will just get dirty again

We need recycling plants and proper waste management

KARACHI: The federal government-backed campaign to clean Karachi will kick-off in the metropolis today with the first target to de-silt all storm-water drains before Eid-ul-Azha.

Speaking to media, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi said, the campaign will work in two phases. “In the first phase, 32 nullahs will be cleaned in Karachi, while garbage from all areas of the city would be lifted in the second phase.”

“The clean Karachi campaign will continue for two weeks,” the minister added.

He added, the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) would play an important role in the campaign and provide its expertise in this regard. “The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), District Municipal Corporations (DMC), Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), trade associations and K-Electric have also extended their support for the drive,” Zaidi said.

Zaidi further said hundreds of party supporters, citizens, as well as private entities, have asked him to include them in the "Clean Karachi" drive.

Private companies, celebrities and volunteers have pledged their support for the campaign, he added. "To make the drive effective, camps would be set up at various points," Zaidi shared.

Volunteers would also create public awareness, he added.

The "Clean Karachi" camping will begin from 12 noon onwards at KPT Head Office, Near Tower Bridge.

Earlier this week, Zaidi had vowed that he will clean up Pakistan's commercial hub, Karachi, in just two weeks.

The minister had said they would remove garbage from the metropolis' six districts. The people of Karachi and the federal government, alongside FixIt founder and the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) member of the National Assembly (MNA), Alamgir Khan, would clean the city, Zaidi has said.

And while we are at it, move half of Karachi's population to Gwadar and Pasni. Pakistan needs more than just one port city. Plus Karachi has become too saturated to the extent that is life threatening. Being the 6th largest populated city in the world requires a heck of a lot of resources, functioning institutions and being organized. None of which, Karachi has. Instead we are run by the laziest, most incompetent, inept and illiterate bunch of scoundrels in the Sindh Provincial government.
