Prime Minister Imran Khan’s special assistant Anil Musarrat, Additional Advocate General along with other government officials were present at the Heathrow Airport upon his arrival to welcome him.

Per social media he is here with his wife, daughters, son in laws - and all of them are staying at the Dorchester hotel. Wonder if there is any truth to this? And if yes, who is paying for this all?

He can afford it. Being a top judge pays well.

I think whole family is here to congratulate his son also:
attending the graduation ceremony of his son Najam Saqib.

He’s basically here for his son’s graduation ceremony and the fundraiser are an add on to his trip, I guess he paid for the trip.

Being a Pakistani judge doesn't pay that well. Just done a check - rooms starting at £621.43 per night, meaning a 7 night stay would cost: £4,350.01 or PKR 748,433 (not including other expenses).

And that's assuming that he stayed in the cheapest room and didn't pay for other family members too.

I think whole family is here to congratulate his son also:

I saw that. And if it's a personal trip and paid for by own legal earnings - then I have absolutely no problem with it.

He’s basically here for his son’s graduation ceremony and the fundraiser are an add on to his trip, I guess he paid for the trip.

Hope you are right.

Even if paid for by organisers of the dam fund would makes it unethical and hypocritical.

But yes, no concrete news yet and I may be jumping the gun here.

We are not sure so no point even raising the issue YET! when info about his flight payment is aired then you can raise the eyebrow (even then wait for full news as we all know how our news broadcasters are and will air any half baked news for ratings) for now chill!

Being a top judge does pay well in any country. Not everyone needs to be hand to mouth in Pakistan. Big difference from a uneducated politican and heavily educated judge.

Sorry, I get triggered whenever I see someone high up in Pakistan meeting this idiot.

Agreed.

You're right, I'm wrong. According to this source:

"According to details shared with the Senate, the chief justice of Pakistan withdraws about Rs846,549 as a month’s salary and is also granted Rs370,597 as superior judicial allowance. Furthermore if the chief justice is not provided official residence, he is also entitled to receive Rs68,000 as house rent."

I genuinely didn't think it was this high, and having checked the actual figures I realise that CJP could indeed afford such a trip and stay. I should have checked rather than assuming - my fault :hitwall:

Also, rates at the Dorchester start at only GBP 525 per night and go up from there.
