Enraged monkeys have killed 250 dogs in an Indian district by dragging them to the top of buildings and trees and dropping them.

Panic-stricken residents have also come under attack and say the acts of animal violence have been carried out 'in revenge' after a pack of dogs killed one of the monkeys' infants.

The horrific incidents have been reported in the villages of Majalgaon, where 250 dogs are said to have been killed by rampaging primates, and nearby Lavul in Maharashtra’s Beed district.

According to India's News18 website, 'not a single pup'
is left in Lavul where even school children are being chased and attacked.

Villagers have reported that monkeys set upon dogs as soon as they see them before taking them up to a high place - the top of a building or a tree - and dropping them to their death.
The reports say that in the last month alone, 250 dogs have been killed in this way.

Pictures in Indian media appeared to confirm the attacks. In one, a monkey can be seen on a roof carrying a puppy to the edge of a building.
Separate footage, possibly of the incident that sparked the revenge attacks, showed dogs chasing monkeys through the village as local women and children ran for safety. The dogs appeared to be protecting a child.
Residents of the village contacted officials at the forest department, asking that they round up the killer monkeys. However, when officers were sent to the village they were unable to catch even one of the primates, News18 said.

According to the villagers, the monkeys are taking revenge.
They say that the violence erupted when some of the dogs killed a baby monkey.

After the officials failed to deal with the problem, villagers reportedly took it upon themselves to try and save the dogs.
But when they did, the monkeys fought back against their efforts, with the news station reporting some men even fell from heights themselves when trying to save dogs that had been dragged there.

Clearly not content with the extermination of the dogs, monkeys are now said to be going after young children.
School children are reportedly being attacked by the monkeys, creating a further sense of panic among the villagers.
In one reported instance, an eight-year-old was grabbed and dragged away by the monkeys, forcing villagers to throw stones at them to scare them off.

Well the police seems to be bloody useless seems to be a subcontinent thing.....
Time to get these bad boys from the jungle....

Not the fault of Monkeys - they were just inspired by Modi and his RSS followers.

The horrific incidents have been reported in the villages of Majalgaon, where 250 dogs are said to have been killed by rampaging primates, and nearby Lavul in Maharashtra’s Beed district.
Followers of camel are having field day.

An important information. This is the same Beed district where evil doctors illegally abort human female fetuses and feed the fetuses to dogs that they maintain for this purpose. These dogs are from among the 60+ million stray dogs in India. The article is from 2012 but I think the practice continues now in 2021 :
Some doctors in Beed are disposing of female foetuses by feeding them to dogs in order to destroy evidence of female foeticide.

The shocking revelation was made by Varsha Deshpande of Lek Ladki Abhiyan, an NGO working against the practice.

Maharashtra's Public Health Minister Suresh Shetty also admitted he had heard of foetuses thrown to the dogs in Beed.

Deshpande's allegation is significant as Beed in Marathwada has the worst child sex ratio - 801 girls being born per 1,000 boys (2011 census) - in Maharashtra.

The low percentage of females is attributed to rampant female infanticide in the area.

Last Friday, Vijaymala Patekar (28), was admitted to Dr Sudam Munde's abortion clinic in Beed when she was six months pregnant. She had four daughters and did not want another. But while her pregnancy was being terminated, she died.

The police have arrested Munde and his wife, but Deshpande said the couple were held earlier too for the same offence and will go scot-free again because of their money power and influence.

"We don't want this case to be tried in Beed or Marathwada. Let the case be tried somewhere outside as they wield too much influence for the trial to be fair," she said.

Deshpande claimed her organisation had conducted a sting operation on the doctor in 2010, in which he openly talked about how he was aborting female foetuses and feeding them to his five dogs.

It was then that the police had arrested him, but he was released soon and continued with his activities.

"A person even saw a foetus being fed to the animals. This is known to everyone in Beed, but the police are not taking action as Munde is influential," Deshpande said.

She added that some other doctors in Beed kept dogs for the same purpose - to avoid the hassle of disposing of the bodies.

Health Minister Shetty said: "I have heard of the practice but have no evidence."

He added that since the local police seemed to be under a lot of "pressure", he had decided to ask the crime branch to investigate the latest case.

Substantiating Deshpande's account of the kind of clout enjoyed by Munde, Shetty said: "Our civil surgeon who had gone to investigate Munde's hospital was locked up in a room by some goons. They even abused her and asked her to go away."

The minister said the surgeon while trying to take action against such doctors had been facing threats for more than a year. "We have asked the home department to provide security for our staff," he said.
So some of the dogs that these monkeys are attacking might be those employed by such doctors to dispose of the human female fetuses.

Cannibal dogs ?

I believe nature is figuring out how to restore order by letting monkeys loose on the normal pets turned beasts. generations of dogs seem to be raised on human flesh ------.

I think that these indian monkeys in the pictures in the OP are the ones that troll PDF.

You can't kill monkeys in India due to religious reasons
I am not too sure maybe an Indian can correct me
I think theyre considered reincarnation of a monkey God
Nah we don’t consider monkeys as sacred, its just cows because we consider them like mothers for they feed the humanity with her milk. Monkeys in past have been removed and some times killed if they were creating a menace.

I will mostly agree with you except that dogs were never normal pets. :) Dogs have always attacked humans, whether through a feudal in Pakistan letting his "pet" dogs loose on a protesting laborer or whether some "stray" dogs in Bangalore, India, tearing apart a three-year-old girl's face or a 65-year-old man in Kerala state, India, killed by a dog gang.

In the same Kerala state is a 'Dog eradication group' managed by Jose Maveli. I support him. Actually some years ago I too used to shoot at the dogs around my house with an air rifle. I stopped after some months and the dogs came back and they killed the cats and also are a nuisance to humans. Those "animals rights movements" like PETA and CUPA be double damned ! There is just one simple solution for the problem called stray dogs. Eradicate them.
