Army chief General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday to discuss matters pertaining to national and regional security.

The participants of the meeting expressed concern over the publication of a ‘fabricated’ news story in Dawn newspaper which claimed the civilian government had asked military-led intelligence agencies not to interfere if law enforcement acts against militant groups which were considered ‘off-limits’ for civilian action.

Rejecting claims made in the story, the government reaffirmed that the army and intelligence agencies shall continue to play a lead role in the fight against terrorism. The PM House statement added that the operation against terrorists was proceeding smoothly and without any discrimination whatsoever with complete consensus of all stakeholders.

The participants were also unanimous that the ‘fabricated’ story was clearly violative of universally acknowledged principles of reporting on national security issues. “It had risked the vital state interests through inclusion of inaccurate and misleading content which had no relevance to actual discussion and facts,” the statement added.

The prime minister took serious notice of the violation and directed that those responsible should be identified for stern action.

Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and DG ISI Lt. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar were present during the meeting.

We direly need a civil military secret setup comprising of die hard persons having complete faith in ideology of Pakistan from different walks of life having unwavering integrity with prime aim to ensure that all organs of the state function as per the ideological foundations laid down by the founders of Pakistan. They must take action against anybody who is an impediment in the fulfillment of national ideals and purge such elements whosoever they may be through a series of actions involving deception and isolate them in such a way that they may not get even a hint that action is being taken against them for being detrimental to national interests. Examples include tax evasion proceedings, honey traps, blackmailing, containment through exploiting their personal enmities, blackmailing their weaknesses etc. This secret alliance exists in USA, Russia, turkey (though weakened now), it existed even in Ottoman empire. Phenomenon is called "deep state". Our policy makers in the establishment need to broaden the area of operations as warfare nowadays has a wider scope involving multi pronged strategic initiatives bent upon imploding the enemy from within. We need to be aware of this and act accordingly. The sooner, the better.

I made couple fop comments to Cyril . He has'nt responded so far!

I believe tht while cyril shouldnt have published this at all, BUT we need to look at the actual "source" who either leaked or deliberately created a false story of tht NSC meeting and gave it to Cyril... Tht person needs to be given more serious punishment ..infact he/ the source of cyril has committed treason, either by leaking classified info, or by falsifying the meetings details

Dr Shahid Masood says tht there are two to three sources...one is a federal minister, one is press secretary of Prime Minister and few bureaucrats of Punjab...But the main source is a fed minister

I am almost 90% sure tht, the fedeal minister is none other than Parvez Rashees... I am almost sure abt it..... Or Ishaq Dar... But my main gut feeling is Parvez Rasheed for sure....

While Cyril and dawn management must be taken to task, all the sources, esp, fedeal minister must be immediately charged with treason, and put in jail....

cyril in particular and dawn in general has become an anti pakistan, anti muslim paper for some time....

the civil-military conflict is a fiction---the truth is it is a conflict between the state and criminals with the latter masquerading as politicians [who as rule are murderers and low life], corrupt bureaucrats and policemen, smuggler -merchants and looters-"industrialists" [in reality small time assemblers and front man for cartels......the military is just the most obvious target/face of the state.....

as for corrupt generals and officers they are without fail lackeys of crooks/murderers masquerading as politicians with the latter giving protection and cover to the former........when the PMs are choosing civil servants on the basis that that they not interfere with if not actually assist them in their crimes then who is to blame? I mean they are by definition choosing people who they expect to be crooks regardless of whether the latter crooks of not-the basis of selection is their immorality and corruption---and the i need to survive is no excuse these people are not peasants or peons living hand to mouth.......

it is essential to activate the jandarma [https://defence.pk/threads/the-case-for-a-jandarma.431527/#post-8547106] and put it to work.....

story is NOT misleading

Dawn published what it was "leaked" by PM house
it was a parting shot by PM to out going Raheel.

in a single blow the PM has blamed Pakistan military for being a hurdle in CPEC and also a hurdle in starting operation in Punjab.

the reality and facts and go in a corner and screw each other.

We all know who is running anti Pakistan & anti PA media cell, so whatever is happening, is happening knowingly & with willingly. Ganja league has once again proven that they are national security to Pakistan. Gen. Raheel & PA are wrong in supporting treacherous DEMOCRAZY & ganja league.

NS is behind that leak every one knows that .Now they put guy on ECL for further malign Gens showing world oh we r weak under pressure .But this time Army openly said they r behind his ECL listing .
