CIA VS ISI

. . .
very professional and decent talk from both sides, I was sort of pleasantly surprised to see the DDI taking "some" responsibility and not blaming everything on Pakistan

Yes both guys sounded reasonable, but kept it brief. More details would have been better, this geezer is pretty fair. Watch one of his other programmes.

@Zibago @The Sandman @Shamain @Moonlight
very interesting conversation from one of Pakistans most intellectual generals

Yeah just watched it. I was completely loving his tone. This confidence.
My favorite part was when he replied to the question, if it's hypocrisy to take aid, but not allying. This answer was the best.

i have always been a fan of the general, he is always so calm , confident and a step ahead of the interviewer or his other interlocutors

Hassan mehdi, who himself is an Indian Shia. is biased against Pakistani General. Instead of being a host he is blaming Pakistan of hypocrisy, just because ISI supported Taliban which is Sunni militant group. This the second time I saw him calling Asad Durrani and trying to put him in tough spot. His all programs are against Iraqi, Syrian and Afghan sunni militant group but I have yet to see him doing a program on Shia militant groups in that region or asking Iranian any tough questions.

Here is another of his program.

It's not that he's biased, it's that it''s his style to ask uncomfortable question, and push buttons. He's done this to a number of interviewees, including those that he agrees with. Keep in mind, he also did the same thing with the American guest, saying that the US supported a lot of these terrorists groups in the past.

I actually like his style.
----------------

Anyway, this was a good, clean, professional interview. It was informative, and showed both sides of the coin in a fair and balanced way.

This is what happens when you get actual professionals, with a good interviewer/mediator in a interview/debate, instead of just so called "analysts" who's opinions are both uninformed and worth less than a dollar store spoon.

Yap, he do with American, British and everybody else. His articals and programs are all about ISIL, ISIS, Taliban and so on.. But I have yet to see him highlighting the plight for Iraqi, Syrian people under the terror of many Shia militant groups openly armed by Iraqi and Syrian governments, or calling out Iran for destabilizing mid-east for once.

He's actually done that, if you listen to his previous interviews. Trust me, his "bias" is mainly to throw his interviewee off balance, it's not actual bias.

There is a program called "Hard Talk" on the BBC, which is built upon this very principle.

Sr. Durani was so straightforward. Worth watching video.

I love it when he said "we will NOT sell our policy". This is the confidence and the powerful tone one should have while representing Pakistan.
We always maintain that tone when US wants to pressurize us on national interests, I give you fine example when Gen. Pasha DG ISI along with Gen. Kiyani shows the same tone when gentleman from USA use threading tone and went too close to Gen. Kiyani and place his face near to him you wont believe what Gen. Kiyani did He took deep smoke of cigar and blows on the face of that gentleman, after that mute treatment (kar lo jo kerna hai) US delegation stay quite rest of the meeting.
