This is nothing out of surprise.

The rule of thumb for this is that India is too big to be a country that the US can ignore. This it is the long lasting policy that ever persist as long as India is heading for relative strength. It's ridiculous to think to counter PRC the united states will promote India to a superpower. India can be use for America meanwhile harshly contained by the Americans. India today is already too big to adversely affect the America's interest in the region.

India's intimacy to Russia and China also seriously harm the interest of the US and it's allies. With a split India the US could check China more efficiently through the mini (indian)states just as what it does in SE Asia.

no, Kerry was here recently, they definitely have an agenda of stealing us away as a major customer from the Russian market but Indo/Rus defence co-operation is at a whole other level, but lets see how sweet they can make it for us
