CIA had apologised to Turkey over false allegations regarding Daesh

The U.S Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had apologised to Turkey with a written statement over their claims of allegedly revealing Turkey's oil trade with Daesh, Daily Sabah learned from diplomatic sources on Dec 16.

According to the high level diplomatic sources the incident happened on Sept 2014 at the U.N Security Council meetings in New York. During U.S Secretary of State John Kerry's meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Sept. 2014 Kerry implied that the US had documents which proved Turkey's alleged oil trade with Daesh. The Turkish delegation requested the documents immediately from the U.S delegation, but the U.S side only delivered the documents in January 2015, following constants reminders from Turkey.

After a careful examination of the CIA's documents, the Turkish National Intelligence Agency (MIT) officials revealed that the geographic locations in the document, which allegedly showed where Daesh's oil trade had taken place with Turkey, in fact showed the asphalt plant of Turkey's Kilis municipality in South-eastern Turkey. Diplomatic sources also added that following this incident the U.S officials accepted their mistake and the CIA apologised to Turkey in early 2015.

Even though Turkey is a member of the anti-Daesh global coalition, allegations that Turkey has been smuggling oil with Daesh are occasionally made in the international press. In 2014 and early 2015 several U.S media outlets presented this allegation, but when the Russian Federation started to use the same allegations against Turkey following the Russian jet crisis in Nov 2015, US officials categorically rejected the claims.

"We reject the premise that the Turkish government is in league with Daesh to smuggle oil. We have seen no evidence to support such an accusation. In fact, Daesh oil smuggling has decreased over time due to the efforts of the Turks and other counter- Daesh coalition members to target oil extraction and transportation infrastructure," U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass said in a written statement on Jan. 28.

Even if it is true (no outside sources but Turkish newspaper claims) the apology is meaningless as the damage is done, and 90% of EU and US users in all western press / media still blabber on about Turkey supporting ISIS/DAESH. The fact is after the CIA's failed coup in Turkey, and their imminent war with Turkey when Turkey begins shelling PYD/PKK locations in Syria, they are trying to gain some positivety for themselves.. which is probably why Trump also decided, that he was going to agree with a no-fly zone that Turkey has been requesting the last 5 or so years... you see, they will use it as an excuse so that Turkey doesn't shell PYD, while that PYD legitimize themselves with sorry stories in western press, as N.Iraq did..

Now with regard to the no fly zone if Turkey is smart they'll delay (incirlik) the airtime of the ally airplanes until after we're done shelling and then let them go, if we're lucky we might have black cross incidents, PYD shooting down ally airplanes.

With what I have read today in Russian and UK news, it looks like in Syria; according to the agreement signed with Russia, Turkey is responsible for security around and over the Idlib area, though it isn't clear yet the full details but it looks like the areas freed by the Euphrates Shield operation has some how joined with this region also, and Turkey will be providing full support including air-cover and firepower in this region at the least according to these outlets for the time being...

As for the PYD areas almost all targets are within artillery range, I think when al-Bab is taken (next week probably) Menbic will be the next target so.... currently there is diversionary tactics by the US going on, sort of come and look there is no PYD here...(utter bullsh@t they've merely changed their name to something else..) there is supposed to be a Turkish/US joint examination going on these days there... plus the things I mentioned above like "Trump suddenly declares OK to no-fly area", "CIA apology' then there are things like Pentagon generals talking about the "US playing with fire by ignoring the Turks and aiding those whose origins they don't know about".... etc.. but it is all inevitable, in the past MGK meeting Turkey decided to paint all areas with PYD in it as terrorist zones that need to be cleared, warned the US that it will bomb these areas and that it wasn't going to be responsible for their losses....

As for Incirlik, well, let them use it why not, that is until they accidentally bomb Turkish troops, after which Turkey can send them all back in their underwear via commercial planes seizing everything there.....
