Amid uproar over the Government’s disclosure about foreign funding to NGOs to fuel anti-nuclear protests in Kudankulam, the latest report of the Home Ministry showed that more than Rs10,000 crore was pumped into India during 2009-2010, mostly from the USA and Europe to NGOs in India.

The report says that while it is not proper to make sweeping generalisations, it is necessary to note that the NGO sector in India is vulnerable to the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing. “Therefore, necessary steps for rigorous enforcement as well as coordination with foreign countries for law enforcement will continue. Our efforts for coordination with State police organisations and other specialised organisations will also continue towards this direction,” the report said.

The report, approved by Union Home Secretary RK Singh in January 2012, revealed that major donors from abroad and receivers in India are Christian Missionaries and Church-sponsored NGOs.

The analysis of the Home Ministry’s 42-page report shows that 14,233 NGOs received foreign contribution of Rs10,337.59 crore. The highest contribution came to Delhi (Rs1,815.91 crore) followed by Tamil Nadu (Rs1,663.31 crore) and Andhra Pradesh (Rs1,324.87 crore). Interestingly, in district-wise analysis Chennai topped the list of foreign contribution with Rs871.60 crore, followed by Bengaluru (Rs703.43 crore) and Mumbai (Rs606.63 crore).

The biggest fund inflow to NGOs has come from the USA (Rs3,105.73 crore) followed by Germany (Rs1,046.30 crore) and the UK (Rs1,038.68 crore). These three countries have topped in the donors’ list of Home Ministry for many years. Most the funding has been generated from Christian missionaries of these three nations. The donor missionaries have also formed their Indian subsidiaries.

The other toppers come from Italy (Rs583.47 crore), the Netherlands (Rs509.46 crore), Spain (Rs437.25 crore) Switzerland (Rs302.06 crore), Canada (Rs297.98 crore), France (Rs189.12 crore) and Australia (Rs148.28). The eleventh big donor to Indian NGOs is from UAE with Rs133.15 crore.

“The list of foreign donors is topped by the Gospel For Asia Inc of the USA (Rs232.71 crore) followed by Fundacion Vicente Ferrer, Barcelona, Spain (Rs228.60 crore) and the World Vision Global Centre of the USA (Rs197.62 crore),” said the report of Home Ministry on foreign contribution and regulation for the period of year 2009-2010. These three are evangelical organisations. The fourth largest donor, Compassion International, is also from the US (Rs131.57 core) and belongs to the same category.

Interestingly the fifth biggest donor is India’s HCL, which has made the contribution through its Mauritius subsidiary HCL Holdings Private Limited. HCL’s entire donation of Rs 94.28 crore has gone to educational organisation in Chennai, knows as Sevasubramania Nadar Educational Charitable Trust, formed in the name of HCL owner Shiv Nadar’s father.

“The highest amount of foreign contribution was received by the World Vision of India, Chennai, Tamil Nadu (Rs 208.94 crore), followed by the Rural Development Trust, Ananthapur, AP (Rs 151.31 crore), and Shri Sevasubramania Nadar Educational Charitable Trust, Chennai (Rs. 94.28 crore).

“The highest amount of foreign contribution was received and utilised for establishment expenses (Rs 1,482.58 crore), followed by rural development (Rs 944.30 crore), welfare of children (Rs 742.42 crore), construction and maintenance of school/college (Rs 630.78 crore) and grant of stipend/scholarship/assistance in cash and kind to poor/deserving children (Rs 454.70 crore),” says the Home Ministry report on the fund utilisation by NGOs.

According to the report, during the year, 133 NGOs received foreign contribution in excess of Rs 10 crore, 179 associations between Rs 5 crore and Rs 10 crore, 1,594 associations between Rs 1 crore and Rs 5 crore, and 12,327 below Rs 1 crore. Out of 21,508 associations, 7275 have reported ‘nil’ receipt of foreign contribution.

So what I was saying was right after all. Also I was wondering if All the money (also called "donations") that are given by Indian parent to get their children admitted into convent schools is also used for funding anti Indian NGOs and anti hindu propaganda...

This is old news especially in my region and southern India. Most secularist lobbies (also funded by same entities) would jump in and deny it ferociously blaming this and that including "saffron" terrorism, but this is the plain naked reality.

Guess that Kudankulam protest rubbed MMS off badly. :D.

Otherwise there's no way in hell this government would do something this good.

St. Lourdes Church at Idinthakarai, a fishing village located about 80 km south of the Tirunelveli town, is an important place of worship for the local people. Of late, the Church, which is over 100 years old, is in the news for a different reason: it serves as the focal point for the protests against the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project.

Over the last 25 days, people from the villages of Tirunelveli district, and the neighbouring districts of Tuticorin and Kanyakumari, have been gathering at the church, about 6 km from Kudankulam. Every day, they observe a one-day relay fast to press their demand that the project be scrapped.

We have some bastards and traitors who are more loyal to Italy then India.

They are more concerned about catholic killers from Italy then the catholic victims of India who ere killed by these Italian killers.

Why is Kerala’s newest cardinal batting for Italian killers?

But it should not be confused with the all the Catholics in Kerala they are rational people and more concerned about their brothers who have died. They have reacted strongly against the cardinal Mar George Alancherry

I personally have a book (50-60 pages) written by one Joy Punnooose (or something similar) that was given to me by a christian Indian family that lived a few floors above us (we were in Canada then... ) as to my amazement, that was the day, my secular beliefs were completely and thoroughly shattered... it was actually a demographic map giving detail of each and every region's religion percentage and ideas of what could be done to make them "pure" (if you know what I mean)... words ike evil, demon, cheats etc. were frequently used for Hindus and also it was repeatedly said that Hindus themselves are weaklings that cannot do it and they are demons that must be killed (resembles someone near and dear to us no?? (hint: our neighbours))

I myself say, whenever corruption cases by the congress government increase in India, Italian economy improves but the time congress ministers are sent to jail, Italian economy start falling as per last two quarters. That’s why I have said many times, “In place of doing religious and cast politics in India by using corrupt ministers, why don’t Mr Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi go to Italy and do this type of politics there?”:hitwall:

Also, I don’t understand the logic behind heavy funding for conversion into Christianity, why do the Western nations want to convert the whole world into Christianity by using force of money?:hitwall:

Govt. should ban all the foreign funds for religious NGOs be it chistians, muslims.

And immediately ban Dr. Zakir Naik he is making future terrorists with his Wahhabi propaganda funded by petro dollar.

The National Liberation Front of Tripura (or NLFT) is a Tripuri nationalist militant organization based in Tripura, India.[3][4][5][6] The NLFT seeks to secede from India and establish an independent Tripuri state, and has actively participated in the Tripura Rebellion. The NLFT manifesto says that they want to expand what they describe as the kingdom of God and Christ in Tripura.[7]

The NLFT is currently proscribed as a terrorist organization in India.[8][9]

Christian terrorism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christian Terrorists, Baptists and Evangelists need to be A*s Kicked out of India.

They even Consider Indian Christians (Goans, Mangloreans, Bombay and Syrian) as Non-Christians!

These NGO's are wreaking havoc in fishermen community in TN here... They get permission for social work, but they indulge in conversions rather than social works... lets see what proof MMS have got against them...

It has nothing to do with Evangelicals (christian and Muslim) or salafis.
It's their duty to do that.

now, educate masses and this conversion business stops. only uneducated and poor people convert.
car to explain what is their duty. and what progress they bring to the human race when they involve in coverting duty.
If a nuclear plant is to be installed in my home town, even i would be oppsing the idea because we all now the ill effects of radiation leak. The government should have been catious when chossing the venue for the nuclear plant or should have evacuated all villages with in the radious of 30 km before commencing on such a costly project.

So don;t blame NGO's. Educating the masses should have been a priority for nely independent India and it was even recommended by a famous minister who had plan for a strong primary education. This plan was completely diregarded by Nehru.
i have a faily friend and when i ask him about this he laughs......the school he runs educates all in a religious free environment. Muslims, hindus, Christians, etc all come to learn. No religious studies are conducted as it would hurt the sentiments of many. This is Kerala my friends. Nobody is forcing anyone to convert, they do it on their own free will. FREE WILL, got that? Nothing wrong with funding.....if you want to point fingers then let's start pointing everywhere. Money is being poured to muslim and Hindu NGO's from outside sources as well and just as much, so plz don;t kid yourself. I am not nieve and i can believe there are some rogue priests in other states, who do illegal acts. in fact, in the Northeast, the biggest international supporters of NCSN are Baptists in the US. The Nagas go thru great lengths to portray that they are being eradicated by the Hindus, thus playing up ppl's fears and sentiments. In fact, you can search such a video on youtube. If you check the US dept. of state, the ULFA and NCSN are not listed as terror groups even though their tactics are listed as such (i think ULFA was upgraded in status but not i the same league as LET). Why? Coz there must be support by these powerful Christian groups in the USA. I say this for you to not to confuse the good and the bad. The moment this path is treaded, then India will cease to be united and foreign powers will take advanatge I guarantee.
