A catholic priest in India has charged that following the elections which brought in Hindu “Bharatiya Janata Party” (BJP) into power selecting Narendra Modi as their Prime Minister, the secular constitution of the country is under grave threat.

A human rights activist, Father Ajay Kumar Singh has cautioned of the rising radical Hindu forces on the Indian subcontinent.

In an interview he said Christian community is specifically under threat as it rejects extremism and detests caste system.

He claimed that BJP wants establishment of state religion that ostracizes all minorities and lower castes.

He further accused BJP of intending to impose one language, Sanskrit, even though hundreds of languages are spoken in India.

He feared if the ongoing slaughter of rights continues to snub minorities, Orissa 2008 will be repeated or even worse as no lesson seems to have been learned.

Back in August 2008, Hindu nationalists had attacked villages of Christian dalits (untouchables), belonging to the lowest caste in Hindi social hierarchy.

According to the National People’s Tribunal (NPT), the violence left 100 dead and the attacks were planned in advance. 600 villages were looted and around 5,600 houses, 295 churches and 13 schools were destroyed. More than 54,000 people were displaced from their homes and 30,000 were not even able to return to their villages.

In addition to that, 2,000 Christians were compelled to deny their faith and numerous women were raped. Worst of all, the perpetrators have not been charged till date.

Christians are the least patriotic community in India. Yet the love and respect they get never ceases to amaze me.

Least patriotic community? I wonder how you came to that conclusion. Anyway I don't think that Indian Christians need a certificate from you. So keep your patriotism certificate to yourself only.

No i'm talking about my personal experience. I was in Kottayam. I saw some people protesting infront of a church. I asked them and they told me that the church is serving pork and beef.
