Three Indonesians were victims of the attacks on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Friday. One has been confirmed dead, while two others remain hospitalized.

Lilik Abdul Hamid, a 50-year-old aircraft engineer for Air New Zealand, who had previously been thought missing, was confirmed to have died by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi on Saturday.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihirojiun [We belong to God and to God we shall return]. My deepest condolences over the death of Bapak Lilik Abdul Hamid, an Indonesian citizen who was a victim of the terrorist attack on Al-Noor Mosque in Christchurch,” she wrote on her official Twitter account. She added that the Indonesian ambassador to New Zealand was in Christchurch to assist Lilik’s family.

A nephew of Lilik’s posted on Facebook about his death, thanking everyone for their prayers and asking for forgiveness on behalf of the deceased.

Other posts on social media described Lilik as a valued member of the Indonesian community in Christchurch.

“Every time guests from Indonesia come to visit, especially ustaz [Islamic teachers], the departed and his wife would always welcome them, not only to stay over at their house, but also to take them sightseeing,” one Indonesian living in Christchurch wrote.

Air New Zealand chief executive officer Christopher Luxon said Lilik had been a valued member of the airliner’s engineering team for 16 years.

“His loss will be deeply felt by the team,” he said on Sunday as quoted by nzherald.co.

"Lilik, his wife, Nina, and their children, Zhania and Gerin, are well-known and loved by our close-knit team of engineers and their families who are now doing all they can to support the family alongside our leadership team and the airline's special assistance team.”

Meanwhile, Zulfirman Syah and his son Averroes, 2, were injured in the attack at the nearby Linwood mosque, but both were in a stable condition as of Saturday.

Zulfirman’s wife, Alta Marie Sacra, said her husband had shielded their son during the attack, causing him to sustain “much more severe injuries”.

“He is in a stable condition following the extensive exploratory and reconstructive surgery he had earlier today,” Alta wrote on her Facebook page on Saturday. “While he is still in the intensive care unit at this stage, he will be moved to the general ward whenever it is deemed appropriate [likely in the next day or so].”

She added that her son also had minor surgery to extract shrapnel and was checked for internal injuries.

“He is recovering nicely and has been cheerful while keeping the staff in the children's ward entertained with his talkative and energetic nature,” she said.

A friend of Alta’s has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the family’s medical and household expenses.

Zulfirman, a native of Padang, West Sumatra, graduated from the Indonesia Institute of Art (ISI) Yogyakarta in 2006. Describing himself as “a dad and career artist of 20 years”, he has had his work included in art exhibitions at the Siena Art Institute in Italy and the National Art Museum of China in Beijing.

“For me, creating art is an expression of my soul, born from my aesthetic experience,” he wrote in his profile at the Saatchi Art online gallery. “With each new work, I strive to use my technique and vision to make an impact on the evolution of art.”

Padang Mayor Mahyeldi Ansharullah visited Zulfirman’s family in Nanggalo district on Saturday to pray for his recovery.

“We in Padang pray that Zulfirman Syah’s second operation in New Zealand goes well,” he said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Very saddened to see once again completely innocent people getting massacred by evil scum, be it Islamic scum, facist scum or leftist scum. This is terrorism plain and simple. I'm glad it is being wildy recognized (bar some) and recieves global outcry.

I am also saddened that there is a serious minority who celebrate this, they in no way speak for the strong majority.

That being said,I fear that things won't get any better soon...

just go through the comments at this 4chan thread

http://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/206256904
also read the comments from white men at this facebook post they are making jokes about death from their original handles

You used a site known for harboring alt-right supporters and then mention Facebook, who's known for many fault (including allowing the livestream of this terror attack).
I could show you plenty of evidence of some Islmaists celebrating terror attacks or vowing revenge with many Facebook likes, but that would be absolutely pointless. Just like your response is to @Vergennes

what actions will your governments take against those who made a hero out of him and are cheering at death of unarmed civilians?
will they get fired from jobs? will police but their names on terror watch list?

Under what rock do you live? What did our goverments do against Islamists cheering for terror attacks across the west?
https://www.thelocal.de/20181002/a-...ans-react-to-arrests-of-right-wing-terrorists
Just one example of action being taken when it is needed.

After at least 49 people were killed in a targeted attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Friday, a far-right Australian senator blamed the violent act on Muslim immigration.

Sen. Fraser Anning from Queensland put out a statement ostensibly condemning the attacks — but then seized the opportunity to spew incendiary and Islamophobic remarks that echoed the rhetoric of the suspected gunman’s manifesto.

“I am utterly opposed to any form of violence within our community, and I totally condemn the actions of the gunman,” Anning said. “However, whilst this kind of violent vigilantism can never be justified, what it highlights is the growing fear within our community, both in Australia and New Zealand of the increasing Muslim presence.”

The senator claimed “left-wing politicians and media” would blame gun laws and nationalist views, but “the real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place.”

Just incredible: As 49 Muslim worshippers lay dead in New Zealand, a sitting Australian senator blames “the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand”.

Anning also posted an equally problematic statement on Twitter in which he tried to draw a link between Muslim immigration and violence.

Anning has a history of making racist statements
The story in New Zealand is still developing, but reports suggest that at least one gunman targeted two mosques during Friday prayers in what New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has called a “terrorist attack.” Ardern said the shooter embraced extremist views, and a white nationalist manifesto linked to the suspect supports this thesis.

Anning, the Queensland senator, appeared to reiterate his comments, even as more details of the attack emerged:

I wonder if there will be as much outrage from the left wing when the next Muslim terrorist attack occurs?

Most likely silence and talk about “lone wolf attacks, mental illness and no connection to Islam”.

Anning took office in 2017 after the elected candidate was found ineligible, and has a history of making inflammatory and racist comments. He was kicked out of his political party in October 2018 after he made an immigration speech in August questioning Muslim and non-English-speaking immigration, and called for a “final solution” to the problem, an apparent reference to Hitler.

According to the Guardian, the right-wing populist Australian party One Nation condemned Anning’s statements at the time. Anning also defended his attendance at a “fascist” really in Melbourne in 2019.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who himself has faced criticism for his immigration policies, denounced Anning’s remarks and called them “disgusting.”

New Zealand, like Australia, is home to people from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds. There is absolutely no place in either of our countries for the hatred and intolerance that has bred this extremist, terrorist violence and we condemn it.

The remarks by Senator Fraser Anning blaming the murderous attacks by a violent, right-wing, extremist terrorist in New Zealand on immigration are disgusting. Those views have no place in Australia, let alone the Australian Parliament.

Correction: Anning became senator in Queensland after another candidate was found ineligible because of his dual citizenship. This post originally said he was “elected in 2017.” The language has been changed to more accurately reflect how he gained his office.

Had Anders Breivik be given death penalty, Mr Brenton Harrison Tarrant would have never done that. Everyone loves his own life.
This guy will be imprisoned for, at the most, 10 to 20 years. But after that, he will be a free man.
So Europe and USA, be prepare to pick bodies of the people, murdered by those, who know that in return, they will not lose their lives.
And yes, you may have to pick the body of your own family member too.
Everybody, right from Muslims to gays, athiests to Marxists, all of them are at target of these Crusaders.

Probably not a free man
The court explains:

A sentence of permanent detention can be imposed if there is considerable danger of repetition. Permanent detention is not subject to any timeframe. However, the court always fixes a timeframe that may not exceed 21 years. When the timeframe expires the offender may be re-assessed. If the court concludes that there is still a danger of repetition the timeframe may be extended by up to five years at a time. There is no upper limit to the number of times that the court may extend the timeframe.

Rather than what he wanted to be some sort of hero for the far right breivek is now a sad little man unliked by the right and the left complaining about his cutlery and his playstation and probably will never be released.
If the death penalty was the ultimate deterrent there would be no suicide bombers.

Suicide bomber has a motive : to give life.
These guys have opposite motive : to take life

After Europe, this virus appeared in Australia. May be some other guys will do that again, somewhere else.
Better kill the "poor guy", and save many others.
