I was reading some nice articles from Ptisi.

The deadline for the companies to deliver their final offers to the Hellenic Navy is supposedly in late June.

Unfortunately, the Dutch haven't come back with a new offer. The Germans haven't surprised us with a Sa'ar 6 HN,like Ptisi said.

So the three contestants that are left are France with the Gowind HN,the Italians with the FCX-30 and the British with the Arrowhead 140 HN.

The Gowind HN is offered with:
  • 16xMICA VL
  • RAM CIWS with 21 missiles
  • 8 MM40 Exocet Block III
  • 2xNarwal 20mm auto-cannons
Advantages:

  • Both FDI HN and Gowind HN will have SETIS
  • France was the only country that supported Greece against Turkish provocations
Disadvantages:

  • The French offered to only modernise 2 of the MEKO 200HN frigates completely and only modernise the other two partially

The FCX-30 is offered with:

  • 16xMICA VL,but also Aster-30 or CAMM-ER
  • Strales
  • RAM CIWS with 21 missiles
  • TISEO Mk2/E anti-ship missiles
Advantages:

  • Slightly better price from the French offer
  • All the above weapons
  • Building in Greece and Italy with no extra costs
Disadvantages:

  • Probably political

Arrowhead 140 HN is offered with:

  • 18xCAMM and 18xCAMM-ER
  • 76mm gun
  • 2x30mm auto-cannons
Advantages:

  • Basically frigates in the almost the price of corvettes
  • 36 AA missiles
  • The British offered to install a Phalanx CIWS as well,if we want
  • TACTICOS system
  • They offered to modernise all four MEKO 200HN
Disadvantages

  • Higher price for the modernisation of the MEKO 200HN
  • Britain's pro-Turkish in general and didn't support us during the 2020 crisis

All three offers are great.

So which one would you choose?

The choices made by the Greek Navy have shown that it is one step ahead of its time, since it knows how to read today. The corvette that the Greek navy wants, it is obvious that it will be a platform that will combine everything:
  • electronic warfare,
  • network-centric warfare,
  • anti-submarine warfare,
  • low cost,
  • survival of saturation missile attack,
  • high compensatory benefits.
An important parameter is the geopolitical dimension, because let us not hide, the opponent of the Greek navy is the Turkish one. Therefore the choice of corvette should complement all of the above.
My opinion is that the Italian corvette is by far the best because of the Cronos, ECM and the Strales, but the French have the lead, because in case of crisis, only France will really help Greece.

Both the British and Italian offers are great. But like you said, they were both neutral during the 2020 crisis and didn't bother to help us at all, diplomatically.

The question is,which one can have the first ships ready by the end of 2023? Is it possible?

.
Just buy Brahmos from India. Every turkish ship will be a sitting duck.

None, it takes at least 24 months to build and 12 months to test and train at sea.
However, I prefer all 4 to be built outside, so that they come faster.

To be honest me too. They might even have strikes here.

This is the Dutch proposal

I would like the Seasnake, because it is a CIWS designed in the 21st century.
Oh sorry,it's RWS,I just noticed 😂

The RAM is the CIWS. Lol,my mistake.

But it would have been nice if we had a Goalkeeper as well,if we got the Sigma 10514 and there was space for it in the front

I did not catch you, both systems you asked are CIWS.
RAM (Rolling Airframe Missile) system is a Guided Missile Weapon System (GMWS).
As far as the corvette defense is concerned, I want both systems.

No I mean,the Seasnake is a RWS,not a CIWS. I got confused and I thought it was a CIWS.
