Good thing we are looking to our defence at last. Instead we were cowering from the Indians in past. We should make a bold statement with our troop positioning that explains we will not tolerate a repeat of Siachen. In fact it was Siachen war which resulted in the Kargil episode. Indian aggression should be stopped on the border.

How far are you going to go with this non-sensical "X led to Y" ladder? Because then I would say Pakistan's creation led to 1965/71/Sachin/blah-blah-blah. The Paks need to get it out of their system that they are in any way equal to India. Just accept it and move on. They will end up doing better in the long run economically like they say it was in the 60's.

That was legitimate criticizm of the Pentagon report, especially given the fact that days after the contents of that report the senior US military commander in Afghanistan essentially contradicted a large part of that report by accepting that the Haqqani network had been disrupted by the recent Pakistani military operations.

Haqqanis aside, What did the commander say about the trouble you foment in India??

it was an official statement by the govt. dismissing the baseless report.....i think even the Pentagon top brass clearly dont care b/c on the same day as the report, Congress and DoD cleared the way for 4 armed surface vessels to be acquired by Pak Navy

they have no choice but to be tight lipped most of the time since they still need Torkham and Chaman border routes and are very well aware that TTP enjoys safe havens in Afghanistan, with indian backing. They know this already. Biggest hindrance though will be Ghani's trip to Pakistan and what will hopefully be a newfound cooperation between Islamabad, Kabul
