What's new

Chinese troops have erected tents 19km inside Indian territory: Govt

19 km is a huge distance in military terms...that is like India reaching Lahore...

What's the response till now, anything planned to evict the troops?

3rd Flag meeting is going to take place tomorrow, and diplomatic talks are ON.

Indian Army already brifed the Goverment about Military Options to vacate the territory from Intruding PLA troops but GOI is'nt keen for that as of now! GOI want the issue to resolved on table via diplomatic Talks. It will take time, lets see how it unfolds.

Hey @Chinese-Dragon, shame on you.. why are you scaring India ?

There are differences in perceptions of the LAC. According to the Indian defence minister, both sides cross over all the time.

So it's not our fault if the Indian media wants to whip up hysteria every time there is a difference of perception.

The only thing media hysteria achieves, is that it makes it a lot harder to back down without losing face. And makes it much easier for commentators to start warmongering over something that happens all the time due to a border that is not properly demarcated.

Why didn't they respond in the first instant?

Indo-Pak border par koi 200 meter andar nhn asakta and here you have a 19km intrusion!

From the developments till now,China wont do anything fishy, will create too much problems.
India is taking a stricter stand as the time passes,so it's either China vacates soon,or India will take action sooner or later.

We have not crossed the LAC, we are still within Chinese territory.

Aksai chin is not chinese territory.. oh, that's a far shot. Aksai chin is not part of Tibet, leave alone china.

China is breath taken by the measured and mature response of the Indian govt.

Yes, china does lose face now, having clearly made a mistake.. the only way they can escape future further embarassment is to fire some low-ranking commander, disowning his unauthorised actions.

It is naviette to defend an indefensible thing ... it comes back to eat you, sooner or later.

Because Indo -Pak border is marked all over, even disputed area's are almost fenced, but same is not the case on Indo-China border, Troops from both countries patrol upto the areas of their own perception of LAC.

But this time PLA troops didn't went back to the status quo position, last time something like this happened was back in 1987.

Only options now availble are withdrawal of PLA troops either via Diplomatic talks or by Force and GOI is'nt interested on the later one as of now. But its for sure that PLA will have to withdraw from Indian Territory Sooner or Later, Thats for Sure.

I see a lot of proud words, but little action.

It was only a short while ago that there were multiple killings on the Indian-Pakistan border, with multiple beheadings of soldiers and the mutilation of dead bodies.

1 week later, Manmohan Singh went to Pakistan with a "hand of friendship".

Now you're telling me that Manmohan is going to do something more than that after NO bloodshed on the Sino-Indian border? Too bad we don't play cricket, otherwise he would offer it right away.

Don't worry mates, Chinese are only enjoying a picnic. Just 1km away from Indian border. It is only Indian media (as usual) making an elephant out of a fly.

Why does the Indian PM have to do anything??

It is china which should go back to status quo, for its own good.

Off course if it doesn't, there could be consequences of any sort.. they are anyone's guess as of now, it is naive to think that the only thing which will be affected is a tented shanty.

And it is also naive to think that the impact will be seen only in a few days. The location and timing of response need not be what china calculated (if it was a calculated move). They are already breath taken by the measured and mature approach of the Indian govt.
