What I understood is that previously, the crossing of border was met with banners and negotiations, but this time, when the Chinese soldiers went to tell Indians that they are in the Chinese territory, they fired at Chinese. What happened after that is not clear..

Maybe, Indians are still sitting there, maybe, after the countermeasures (which I believe firing from the Chinese side) they left.

It clears one thing, which is serious.. that now the chances of peaceful negotiations are quite low. Any mistake from either side may prove costly.

It's in response to PLA attempt to cut the supply lines of an mountain already occupied by IA within our claim of LAC but disputed.

Our surveillance was quick enabling another crack team of IA specialist to quickly capture one more position previously unoccupied. But it was a small hill.
PLA came in with clubs studded with nails to "negotiate". Learning from Galwan we fired warning shots in the air to imply our seriousness.
The Chinese stopped, did their own warning shots which they call countermeasures and retreated. This is what's available.

The winter is now just 3 weeks away. First bullet has been fired in decades. India should prepare for an short but brutal war.

May be true that Chinese are creating some kind of hype on purpose and making lots of high volume noises to the world that it's territory was taken over by India. Unlike India, China is self reliant in high tech. arms and production, has already matched or surpassed world's only superpower USA in many defense areas, it's hard to fathom PLA will just accept the situation and take this situation lying down. Chinese tend to think deep and plan years and decades ahead, their policies are not about winning the next general elections.

My 1/2 cent take it for what it's worth.
