Chinese subs in Indian waters sends jitters - report

.
Thats wrong, where exactly did the article say that they entered Indian waters????

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, havent you ?

Yes, I have but sometime when we argue than we say these type silly words. by the way, Indian navy will not allow any Chinese navy movement in Indian water.

. . . .
I agree with this. Some Indians think it belongs to them only.

Btw, Welcome to Sri Lanka's backyard. :D
South China Sea (SCS) does not belong to China, neither Indian Ocean to India. The names reflect the locations: China, India respectively.

SCS is a international name, Vietnam calls it East Sea, China calls it South Sea.

.
The Int'l community should change the name into "Apache Ocrean" instead, to avoid the sensitivity of the supapawa.

.
We will go indian ocean for breakfast is true

But indians will be the dinner of sharks in South China sea! hahaha curry meat for the sharks! they love it!

First we tackle the indian ocean and then we will settle the SCS issues with the remaining resources

We dont need any map to claim occupations when all indian warships are sunk to the bottom of the ocean forming artificial coral reefs for sharks

even our crews at 500-meter deep on its 200th mission can hear the 22nd screaming from the indian dept of concern

China, by way of a larger navy and bigger aspirations, has to dedicate naval resources to the pacific to test US influence, maintain a heavy presence in the contested waters of South China Sea - and despite all your grandstanding, most strategists would agree that these are more pressing issues for PLAN. After handling these issues, i would imagine, that PLAN would be stretched too thin to flex muscles in the Indian Ocean.

Besides, with no navy in the subcontinent, competent enough to challenge the Indian navy - India can afford to dedicate a large part of its naval resources for maintaining control over the waters of Indian Ocean. Add to this, the airforce base in andamans, and India has sufficient hardware to deter adventurism by the Chinese.

Despite what you might have been taught, China is no where near launching ambitious plans in the Indian Ocean, especially not with the kind of submarines that give competition to loud mouths, like yourself, in terms of the noise they create.

Chinese subs in Indian waters sends jitters - report

First,post the link..
second,it says "22 unknown contact"..China isn't only navy which can operate in IOR. there are good many other navies too..looks like a BS report to me.
and 3rd,is that really the headline of that report??

also,Chinese Subs was operating in IOR quite some times now.but looks like even vastness of IOR can't hide those subs from being detected. waiting for P-8I and some M-q4c bams..it'll be fun.

It is South Asia's backyard, we are guests, but we will protect our friends and allies in South Asia.

You said it wrong.

We don't need protection, we can protect ourselves well against any aggression. we need partnership eagerly.

Secondly China is also a South Asian nation. This is an obvious fact. Point is Indian Ocean is also China's backyard not because China is strong but because China is part of South Asia.

SAARC must be a viable institution of South Asia's future. China shall be the major force in this organization. I have long proposed this and people in this subcon will finally realize it's the interest of all nations and nearly 3 billion people. The west is the only loser.

While lots of the points you've made are valid, India has no navy that worths mentioning.

Indian surface ships: can any take on 054A for the starter?

Indian subs (armed ones thuse excluse the Russian lease): can any take on China's ssn, ssbn and the conventionals?

Indian "carreir": please...

Southern Sea Fleet of PLAN alone can rock entire Indian navy into stone age within hours.

The only thing India has is airforce along the coastline.

.
What is the issue we are discussing.

.
LoL, the indian department of concern screams again.

It is excellent for us to have come to this far side of the ocean on missions for our national and regional interests.

But we have to improve the stealth features. The detection of 22 recorded operations by the usa sonar is way too many.

Anyone knows what Type of our submarines were navigating in the area?

Well, even a person swimming can technically be detected.

I wonder what if the Chinese sub killed Indian fishermen, what would happen? China needs to be careful.

Sounds like an awfully expensive way to kill mere fishermen.

Chinese subs detected south of SL-report

The Indian Navy has strong indications that a fleet of Chinese nuclear submarines is making frequent forays into the Indian Ocean and Chinese submarines were detected at least 13 occasions just south of Sri Lanka, India’s ‘Headlines Today’ reported.

Headlines Today has exclusive access to a report from the Indian Navy to the Defence Ministry that says 22 unknown submarine contacts were detected by Indian and U.S sonar in the Indian Ocean.

The assessment is that China is the only other navy capable of operating in the area. The assessment has been confirmed by U.S. and Indian intelligence inputs.
The extent of Chinese submarines' unchallenged forays into the Indian Ocean can be deeply troubling for the Indian Navy.

Sources tell Headlines Today that one contact with a suspected Chinese submarine took place just 90 km from Indian soil in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Six contacts took place north-west of the Straits of Malacca, 13 south of Sri Lanka and two as far as the Arabian Sea.

The first such Chinese submarine was spotted on sonar in August 2012 during a patrol of Indian and U.S. navy ships, confident that they are the only two navies operating in the southern part of the Indian Ocean.

According to the report, the People's Liberation Army's naval wing is deploying the state-of-the art nuclear submarines on a 10,000-mile deepwater run. The launch location is Sanya in the South China Sea.

Official sources say the Chinese submariners could be preparing to sneak into India's backyard, test Indian Navy's conviction in keeping them out and probably pioneer a permanent presence in the Indian Ocean region.

SAARC is a dead horse. No use beating it.

Additionally, India will never allow China to join.
