Chinese students return from abroad with startup fever

China's problem is that it fails to enlist the children of people who betrayed the homeland. People just assume the children of traitors must be even bigger traitors.

Remember when some sour grapes somehow managed to convince themself that "intention" to stay after graduation according to non-binding surveys, was a more important statistic than percentage of students actually returning in reality, if not the most important?

I am already in China (Taiwan -- after a long stay in the overseas) and often in Mainland China, recently .

The rest of the guys, I think, if not them, their kids will end up in homeland.

Remember when some sour grapes somehow managed to convince themself that "intention" to stay after graduation according to non-binding surveys, was a more important statistic than percentage of students actually returning in reality, if not the most important?

They may continue relying on intentions (which may change over night, after all) while the ground reality (even increasing number of returnees) defies them. And, once a person returns and starts fresh, it is almost a set deal that that person will stay.

That's probably why people mostly return in their early years of foreign stay or well into their career -- it is perhaps more difficult in between.

The problem is that neither the government nor the society recognizes overseas ethnic Chinese as their own people in anyway but instead a lot of people (especially the privileged class) bear a grudge that they take out on the overseas ethnic Chinese. The choice is really either the former international students return to raise their families or else it will be permanently too late.
