Two more pictures of the passengers who are family members of the soldiers stationed on the Island.

Flight Passengers on Yongshu Island a03.jpg

Looks like they are on the tarmac upon arrival.

Looks like the passengers are saying goodbye to their loved ones.

. .
First there was a test flight.

Then, they fly in the beautiful flight attendants from China Southern and Hainan airlines.

Now, they are now flying in families of soldiers stationed on the islands, for a family reunion.

Looks very much like - "Take your kids to work day". :D

Good PR, lifts the morale of military personnel on the island.

By the way, there is a stadium and two tennis courts on Yongshu Island. See this picture dated Nov 19 last year.

So you have outdoor facilities for exercise.

I am wondering when the casino is ready. :-)

China seeks investment to develop South China Sea islands, launch regular flights

Rocky Island in Xisha Islands.

China says it wants to develop the islands it controls in the South China Sea and is looking for private investment to help bring the plan to fruition. Regular flights will depart for the sparsely populated Sansha city this year, which is part of the Paracel Islands.

The deputy mayor of Sansha, Feng Wenhai says they will welcome private investment and "will initiate public-private-partnership programs," according to Xinhua.

"The city will also push forward the planning and construction of a maritime medical rescue center. Submarine optical cables will be laid and put into use this year, and WiFi will cover all inhabited islands and reefs," Feng said.

Sansha city on Woody (or Yongxing) Island, only has a population of a few thousand people and was built in 2012 in order to help Beijing govern the islands in the region. At present its infrastructure boasts a bank, a library, a hospital and a supermarket. However, China hopes to boost tourist numbers by introducing regular civilian flights.

On Friday, the Chinese media showed pictures of what it said were the first tourists to arrive by plane on Yongshu Island.

"Everyone rapturously looked around at the island's beautiful scenery," read a caption underneath one of the pictures carried on the website of Chinese news portal Sina, as cited by Reuters, showing members of the public standing on the tarmac in front of two civilian aircraft.

Vietnam protests China’s flights to East Sea again
VNA THURSDAY, JANUARY 07, 2016 -

Hanoi (VNA) - Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Le Hai Binh has once again expressed Vietnam’s strong protest against a pair of Chinese civilian jet airliners that landed at an illegally-built airport on Chu Thap (Fiery Cross) island in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago on January 6.

He said the action has seriously violated Vietnam’s sovereignty, threatened peace and stability in the region, as well as maritime and aviation security, safety, and freedom in the East Sea.

Vietnam resolutely asks China to immediately stop similar actions that violate Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa archipelago, respect relevant international law and refrain from escalating and complicating the dispute, Binh said.

Vietnam will firmly safeguard its sovereignty, sovereign and jurisdictional rights in the East Sea by peaceful means in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law, he added.-VNA

We were talking about developing tourism facilities.

A key facility would be nice hotels.

What better theme could the hotels have?

An idea is given by the following pictures.
