Truth is, the Indian right wing and your average Chinese ccp grad probably has more in common with each other than the wilfully ignorant Pakistani.

Both of you hate Muslims with passion. Both of you would love nothing more than to suppress them and pretend like they don’t exist — or remain subservient — ready to “dance” when commanded.

India is still a democracy so the government itself cannot seem overtly anti Muslim. So conveniently the “mob” (in certain areas) is allowed to act out while the government looks the other way. In China, they can just steamroll Muslims using the full might of the Chinese government. The subjugation is total and the lack of any possible way for these people to “stand for their rights/identity” is truly terrifying.

What you have going on in xinjiang is probably what your average hindutva nutjob dreams they could implement in india.

For Pakistanis this should just tell you that it’s probably a good idea to start building an independent foreign policy. If you’re going to be subservient anyway, be subservient to those who are not actively trying to wipe out the “ummah” wherever it exists within their territory.

Chinese nation is not at all a religious conscious nation through out the history, we never had religious based wars, we neither love nor hate any religions, Hui Muslims live in China for hundreds of years just like Han Chinese, we don't feel they are any different from us. but a decade or so ago, in Xinjiang, terrorist attacks suddenly emerged and quickly surged to occur on weekly basis, many people were killed in those attacks and the image of Muslims indeed badly tarnished in China, but now we have had zero terrorism in Xinjiang for many years already, public attitudes towards Xinjiang and Muslims had been greatly improved, they are almost back to pre terrorism and attack time.
