Where was QUAD when India surrendered land to China few months ago? Its alliance doesn't go much beyond Americans selling weapons.

The government does have control, it chooses to borrow for projects that it can't pay, which increases debt. Defense as you have rightly pointed out is 1,289 Rs. in Billion which is 20.3% and interest payments 2,946/6345 Rs. in Billion which is 46.4% of the budget. Now add defense and interest payments you get a number bigger than 50%.

Are you a child? Every country runs on debt and those projects are needed for developement; also trying to twist your own anti-defence budget agenda by hiding behind debt repayments is cowardly. If you hate the military just say it instead of these mental gymnastics.
