Chinese Navy conducts drill in Sea of Japan

Excellent.

Increase the frequency of naval and air drills in Sea of China, South China Sea and East China Sea.

I think with more inductions into the both naval fleets and air forces, the frequency and range of the maritime law and security enforcement activities will grow exponentially.

It has already been felt in the SCS by the regional actors. Now, China is turning attention to the ECS, as it seems.

It is a good timing given that most of the attention is currently on ECS.

China can engage both theaters to deflect concentration and manage the debate.

ABOARD XI'AN DESTROYER, Aug. 19 -- Two Chinese Navy fleets began a confrontation drill in the Sea of Japan Thursday, according to a military source Friday.

One fleet included the missile destroyer Xi'an, missile frigate Hengshui and supply ship Gaoyouhu. ALl of the three have just wrapped the Rim of the Pacific 2016 (RIMPAC 2016) multinational naval exercise, the Navy source said.

The rival fleet consisted of several warships from the Navy's Donghai Fleet.

Foreign aircraft attempted surveillance during the drill and were met with the proper response from the Chinese warships, the source said.

The drill, arranged according to the Navy's annual training plan and a common practice seen across the world, is in line with the international law and practice, the source noted.

nothing special. every country has right to conduct drills in international waters be it sea of Japan or South china sea.

. . . . .
The South Asian Ocean is massive. No one can ever control it.
you can call it whatever you want but it will be always known as Indian Ocean. and also no one can ever control south china sea also.

Then why is your Indian establishment make a big deal out of our naval operation in the Indian Ocean?
i think Chinese will also react same if our nuclear subs start visiting south china sea. by the way what is need to send nuclear subs in Indian ocean. why not send them to countries near to USA?

It's no longer called 'Sea of Japan'.

It's Sea of China.

That's the North China Sea, which is why Hokkaido is literally named North Sea Circuit in Japanese.

Dudes. You are too aggressive. It's not possible to change the sea names. They are widely accepted by the world for hundreds years. We don't have to play words game as others did.

China doesn't own Sea of Japan. We should accept it as it is the truth. Hopefully the world would accept the truth that China owns most of the South China sea islands as it is.

You are taking this too seriously. Everyone is changing the name of the sea, Philippine, Indonesia, etc.

In the past, if Chairman Mao would have completely taken over North Korea, China today could have independent easy access to the Sea of Japan just like the East China Sea and South China Sea. /Just Saying

That would be silly. China is not in the business of territorial expansion. But I think a land swap deal would not be a bad idea.

I disagree with a land swap. That shows weakness. North Korea is far below the league of China.
