What's new

Chinese naval ships in Pakistan's Gwadar port call for a rethink of India's regional policy..

but why would chinese ships carry goods of china to Gwadar from Shenghai? there is a road connected between Pakistan and China, they can use it..

Gwadar port is to use by ME, African and European countries to reduce the travel distance and time to reach china by bypassing Malacca strait.

chinese ships won't be carring goods just for pakistan....ship will be unloading its goods to srilanka , india ,pakistan and then to mideast on its way...

.
i already write many a time before....cpec is a network for efficient distribution of chinese goods only...
you are 100% right! and also as you know, we will make sure our merchant fleets are free from any threats

.
there is a port...and there is a road...

the chinese ship carrying goods will stop at port , down their containers , then those will be distrubuted by road..

thats the cpec from chinese prospective ,
its that simple.....what is there in it that you can't understand...

its is so simple, then why is it bothering India so much

You need to tell this to MODI and indian establishment if you think you are the most smart thinker in India ..

There is a reason for your establishment and MODI crying on CPEC

be happy what you think it is , and we will continue the work and you will see the results . simple
is there anything hard to understand ????

Beijing, Nov 30, 2016 (PTI)
The Chinese military today parried questions over assertions by a Pakistani naval official that PLA will deploy its naval ships, submarines and troops to guard the Gwadar port and the USD 46 billion CPEC, saying that the two militaries have strategic cooperative partnership.

"About the Gwadar port not long ago the operational ceremony was held at the port and operation of the port will contribute to the regional economic development," Chinese military spokesman Col Yang Yujun said here referring to its recent launch in which goods brought by lorries from China through Karakoram highway were shipped from the port renovated and managed by China.

"As per the details you may ask the competent authorities about the port cooperation," he said when asked about reports quoting a Pakistani naval official claiming that China would deploy its naval ships along with Pakistan Navy to safeguard the strategic Gwadar port and trade routes under CPEC.

Pakistan media reports quoted a naval official as saying that the role of maritime forces has increased since the country has made the Gwadar port operational and increased economic activities under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

"China would also deploy its naval ships in coordination with Pakistan Navy to safeguard the port and trade under the CPEC," the unnamed official claimed.

While fending off a response, Yang however said Chinese and Pakistan militaries had close relations for long.

"About China, Pakistan relationship both the countries always had strategic cooperation as partners. For years the two militaries have maintained good exchanges and practical cooperation. The two navies also conducted exchanges of cooperation with port calls of naval ships as well as logistic supplies etc," he said.

He also parried another question about the Pakistani military official's remarks that PLA will also deploy a submarine at the Gwadar port and establish a military base there to provide maintenance support for the Chinese naval fleet operating in the Indian Ocean.

"About the construction of Gwadar port and relations between military of China and Pakistan I have already answered," he said.

He also said he had no information about any plans by People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China to establish major bases in Gwadar similar to the one being built at Djibouti in Africa in other parts of the world.

Denying that the Djibouti location in the Indian Ocean where the navy is building a massive facility is a military base, he said it is a supply facility which will be mainly be used for logistic support for PLA troops taking part in escort missions and humanitarian missions in the Gulf of Aden and in waters of Somalia.
"At present the project is progressing smoothly," he said.

The purpose of the facility is to undertake international responsibility and obligations besides protecting its lawful interests instead of seeking military expansion, Yang said.

Republic of India is having security agreement with GCC.

Oman: India and Oman signed a military protocol in 1972, which led to a three- year deputation of Indian Navy personnel to man Oman’s Navy in 1973. A MoU on defence cooperation was signed between India and Oman in 2005.

UAE: India signed a defence cooperation agreement with the UAE in 2003 that will focus bilateral cooperation on military training, cooperation in military medical services and jointly combating pollution caused by the military at sea. Regular naval exercises take place between India and the UAE.

Qatar: India signed defence cooperation and security and law enforcement agreements with Qatar in 2008.

Saudi Arabia : The establishment of diplomatic relations in 1947 was followed by high-level visits from both sides.
King Saud visited India in 1955 and the Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru visited the Kingdom in 1956. The visit of the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to Saudi Arabia in 1982 further boosted the bilateral relations.

In the recent times, the historic visit of King Abdullah to India in 2006 resulted in signing of „Delhi Declaration‟ imparting a fresh momentum to the bilateral relationship

The visit provided the framework for cooperation in all fields of mutual interest. The reciprocal visit by Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh to SaudiArabia in 2010 raised the level of bilateral engagement to „Strategic Partnership‟ and the „Riyadh Declaration ‟ signed during the visit captured the spirit of enhanced cooperation in political , economic, security and defence realms

Hahaha then why are yyou so much concerned that sending yyour submarine so close that it resulted in endanger to submarine and crew ?

Sir cpec investment in road and railwayy network is small ... Big portion is going in other infrastructure projects like energy ... Can yyou please explain if its just road connectivity then why significant investment in energy ...

There are two aspects of cpec ...

1 commercial aspect ... China will transfer downstream industry to pakistan as it will be most cost efficient as china's cost of production is increasing for low tech products ...

2 sencond is defence impact ... China want to ensure that it trade routes remained open from pakistan speciallyy for oil ... There are too much risk of transfer of oil from malaca strait as it has too much us influence ... Hence in case of any future war bw pakistan and india .. China will ensure that india is awayy from pakistani shores ... Hence defence needs of pak and china are aljgned and against indian interests ...

So all the dreams of india for naval blockade are destroyed now as it will be act of war against china as well

China would react:
1,Indian direct sabatage to CPEC
2,Indian naval threat to Gwadar port
3,Indian blockade of Indus river water

.
Iran will never host your Navy.

Iran is having good relations with Russian Federation and Chinese.

Actually its the Chinese who are constructing dams on Brahmaputra river and diverting waters.

CPEC can be successful only after the Chinese solving the border disputes with Republic of India. Holy places of Ancient Rig vedic tribes are under Chinese occupation.
