Chinese naval force may have deterred Indian invasion of Maldives

Are you plain stupid? India outnumbers the Chinese army by a factor of 20 times on the border ... this just shows how confident China is with deterring India using a small but elite force. China's navy might only four times bigger than India's, but its naval technology is probably 12 times more advanced ...

Apparently, this former Indian intelligence officer does not agree with you

Trying to convince yourself that the Chinese aren't strengthening their presence in Doklam only weakens India's position. How do you confront an enemy if you don't even acknowledge their existence?

The one thing that the Indian military fears more than the Chinese army is the Chinese navy ...

So India being 20 times the Chinese army on the border shows how confident China is .
You made the above statement and you ask the question Are you plain stupid? to others :D

.
Stupid excuse, even for a junk, the price of those subs were basically negligible.

$203 million is not negligible. The operational and maintenance costs of the junk is going to be high

I a

glossy photos does not change reality. it is unproven weapon system.
I am sure all the other countries in the world are dummies not to emulate China

. . .
countries other than Russia have evaluated S-300 and stood in queue to purchase them
I wouldn't expect you to know that
your proven terminlogy are all wrong, so Aster-30/15, Meads, S-400, THAAD are also not proven system in war, so that mean they are all junko_O, so your proven terminology is absurd/ridiculous @wiseone2 :enjoy:

203 mil to upgrade 2 subs, the sensors, overhaul the whole thing, provided with arms and training is free... go try buying a junk from russia (standard kilo can be considered as such) and let’s see if you can get two with all the things mentioned above for 250mil

if the objective is to impress Myanmar I have better suggestion. Start building an air force with 4th generation combat aircraft

. . .
Stop jumping topics... stay within discussion

if you say so ...
submarines are hard to operate. $200 million won't buy you much. 2 crappy Chinese submarines won't make a difference. Rangoon is quite far away.

do you want to bet how many times Bangladesh navy sets the submarines to sea ?

. .
What an amazing logic

Indian navy didn't intervened because Chinas navy is now four times bigger than India's but army intervened in doklam despite knowing PLA is 2 times bigger

Just to correct you on this

India vs Chinese active troop deployment is in the ratio 2:1

India has 6 corps deployed near Chinese border consisting of several mountain divisions

upload_2018-3-12_21-21-19.png

Each corp consists of 90,000 active troops i.e 90,000*6 = 540,000

upload_2018-3-12_21-22-2.png

Whereas China has deployed merely 2 corps near Indian border in the Western T.C

upload_2018-3-12_21-24-0.png

One in Tibet and one in Xinjiang each of 120,000 troops i.e total of 240,000 troops and only 2 mountain divisions

India has maintained this numerical advantage right since 1971. This is the reason why Chinese despite claiming Sikkim as their own , did not militarily intervene when India integrated Sikkim 1974.

Dude I am talking about the whole Size of PLA compared to IA , Yes despite having just 2 divisions china can mobilize as many divisions they want considering their superior infra on their side . So the ratio logic still doesn't matter in the India-china context

After reading through this entire thread, I ran into this from a Russian site:
https://sputniknews.com/asia/201803071062310153-india-china-indian-ocean/

India's tri-service war games in the Indian Ocean coincided with a Constitutional crisis in the strategically located island nation Maldives. It was apparently this exercise that forced China to abort a naval mission reportedly aimed at containing New Delhi's influence over the troubled country.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — In a first of its kind, India recently conducted a massive exercise in the Indian Ocean involving its army, navy, air force and coast guards. The extensive exercise saw the participation of all operational ships, submarines and aircraft of the Indian Navy, along with men and equipment of the Indian Army, all types of aircraft of the Indian Air Force and ships and aircraft of the Indian Coast Guard. The Indian defense ministry claimed that the war games were aimed at threat perceptions of a two-front war, i.e. simultaneous combat with China and Pakistan.

"The war games conducted on both the seaboards of India extended from the Northern Arabian Sea off the coast of Gujarat to the Southern Indian Ocean off the Sunda Straits near Indonesia," the defense ministry said about the exercise which concluded on 28 February.

Around the same time, Chinese news portal Sina.com.cn had reported that a fleet of destroyers, at least one frigate, a 30,000-tonne amphibious transport dock and three support tankers entered the Indian Ocean. Though the report did not mention any specific reason for the deployment, it was widely construed as an attempt by China to exert its influence over Maldives — the strategically located chain of islands in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).

It was later reported that the Chinese warships turned around and returned to the South China Sea through the Lombok Strait. The four straits of Malacca, Sunda, Lombok and Ombai Wetar are used by China's People's Liberation Army (Navy) to cross between their bases in the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean.

China Unlikely to Match India Strength in Indian Ocean in Near Future - Analysts
The Indian defense ministry hinted that the Chinese warships that were believed to be destined to linger off the Maldives, made a U-turn after they encountered the mission-ready ships of the Indian Navy that were then engaged in the war games.

"Mission-ready ships are now forward deployed in critical areas of the IOR with the inherent capability to respond to emerging threats and benign situations. The Navy has already reaped rich dividends from this concept," defense ministry exulted.

The Indian Navy adopted the "mission-based deployment" concept last year in July to maintain its dominance in the IOR. The exercise was mainly a review of his concept. The Indian Navy further revealed that it has "cut the flab" in the various exercises undertaken at sea.

"Greater focus has been accorded to conflict readiness across the spectrum, as well as realistic scenarios likely to be faced at sea," the defense ministry revealed.

It said that the focus has been on realistic scenarios likely to manifest in the future, including terrorist attacks from the sea on critical infrastructure and populated areas, defense of offshore oil resources of the country and protection of India's significant seaborne trade.

Or maybe you are the idiotic one? If China feels confident to deter a huge Indian force with a PLA force 1/20 the size, that attests to the high quality personnel stationed there. In other words, one PLA soldier equals 20 Indian counterparts. If the PLA did not feel adequate, they could easily shift tens of thousands ... but they do feel adequate. India has to make up for it's massive conventional weakness by bolstering up manpower . . which your leaders know really well. Put it simply, 1 PLA soldier = 20 Indians. You can deny it all you want but you k the truth

Just look at your BS map. Why is there an Indian force in Aksai Chin??? Isn't it according to you guys, illegally occupied by China? Deceiving yourself with inaccurate maps is not gonna change any thing my friend. It only draws Indian posters further into their fantasy dreams ...
