Chinese national insults Indian flag, throws it in dustbin outside Noida Oppo office

. . .
You are being stupid. But I will humour you.

A planned protest needs govt approval (which is easy to get).

But spontaneous protests happen and police try to contain them and not disperse them as the idea is to maintain law and order and not enforce the law (that's not police job).

So the spontaneous protest will be tolerated as long as it is peaceful. If it becomes a nuisance police will use force to break it.

Not sure where your confusion is. How spontaneous protests that happen all over the world including superpower China means rule of law does not exist?????
Here we go again! why does Indian always use unpleasant word? when others try to learn things from this forum. once I see the unpleasant word, I then disregard rest of what you wrote.

Oppo India Fires Chinese Employee Who Tore Indian National Flag

Oppo India today in a statement has announced that the company has fired the employee from China who reportedly tore the Indian national flag and dumped it in a dustbin. This action comes within a day after huge protests were held at Oppo’s Noida sector 63 facility.

“Based on the recent incident and after thorough investigation with the concerned authorities, we have found that a worker discarded the Indian Flag from the table during regular external material check. OPPO India regrets this unfortunate incident and reaffirms that this is an individual’s behavior that in no way represents our company’s position. We have ZERO tolerance for such matters and have taken strict action in terminating the individual and continue working very closely with the authorities on the matter,” said the company.

The incident attracted huge protests at the Noida Sector 63 facility. Even Oppo India employees had joined the protest against the Chinese employee who is a production manager in the facility and three of them have officially complained against him as well.

Over 200 police personnel were deployed to bring the situation under control. A case has been filed by the police against the Chinese employee.

Everyone needs to calm down now... everyone gets in line when it comes to Business..

So matter is closed now. But it has dented the image of the company a big time. Anyways, people are forgiving in nature and they will move on with this episode and the company will be back without much damage.

chinese member defending there countryman shameful behaviour...no wonder as such behaviour is expected from superiority ridden racist Han chauvinist trolls

Sp far, there is no evidence he did it purposely to insult India and Indians, and he might be as innocent as picking up a piece of paper from the floor, just to keep the production line he is responsible for tidy and neat.

If this is the case, the mass protest seems to be an unnecessary overreaction, and overreaction usually indicates a fragile mind.

And that is the reason why a foreign company must understand local customs and laws.

Also don't talk about fragile mind.

Chinese are right now protesting against Korean brands some even by engaging in vandalism.

Who is defending?

They don't understand local circumstances. It is not a fault, but a misunderstanding.

Also don't talk about han chauvinism as if know anything about it.

Chinese are not protesting SK because of some petty issues like this one. You should have known the difference.

Well, what is the definition of pettiness?

Vandalism against any target is always petty in my honest opinion.

Also, the protests in India were all peaceful.

What do you think will happen if an Indian company in China were to somehow criticize the CCP?

When doing business in other country, one must recognize and follow local customs, and laws.

Like just recently Australian citizens were detained for alleged advertisement of some casinos in China.

So, any company and citizen abroad needs to follow local rules and customs.

Chinese companies moving abroad must realize this, and perhaps take the help of some outside consulting agencies. Local laws and customs will all change from Saudi Arabia, to India, to United States, to Nigeria, to Russia.

THAAD aiming your country is not a petty issue, and a piece of paper flag is, not matter how you look at it.

I did not say what he did was right, but I would give him the benefit of doubt. He might not be aware that his "innocent" action could have caused the discomfort of so many sensitive nerves, and even aroused a mass protest in such a scale.

Sure, any company doing business overseas should follow the local laws, not matter how weird those laws may seem to them.

As for if one (foreign or local) can criticize CCP, you are out of touch of the ground reality in China. There are tons of social media dedicate to "criticize" anything and everything China gov does, and they are live and well. Try forums on 163.com to verify if you can read Chinese.

Indian will continue to buy Micromax because it's much cheaper than oppo

We are not communists our Nationalism is religion for us. our Flag is not a piece of paper for us it is very dear to us. Your atheist capitalist mind can't understand this. In China breaking a buddha statue is petty issue. India will go on war for this. China has lost its Morality and Ethics to make money. India will make money the right way.

No, they don't criticize CCP and call for its overthrow. They criticize specific policies. And the penalty for a big visible company or a celebrity goes up significantly since their voice carries weight.

The way you feel threatened by Thaad, many Indians feel threatened by CPEC, the "String of Pearls," etc etc. Does that mean than that it is ok to resort to vandalism against chinese products and companies?

And I am not saying that the employee has everything to blame for!

I can understand that it is very much possible that he didn't understand the magnitude of the stuff that he was undertaking.

That is why I'm asking for Chinese companies to have consultants to train employees that go in other places. Especially places that may have very different customs.

Anyways, I don't think much will come out of it. The employee, I'm sure will be allowed to return back, with minimal punishment.

PS- I am an extreme opponent of the current flag rules. I truly am. I am merely remarking on the professional, commercial duty of a company to adhere to local rules.
