As if paper money is any different?
Didn't you see what happened in India and North Korea? The majority of paper currency was made worthless overnight.
And if your paper currency is worthless, then no shopkeeper or landlord will accept it. What are they going to do, keep it under their bed as a souvenir?
It doesn't matter what form your money takes, whether it is in cash, assets or gold. If it's on the books, the government/banks know about it. If it's off the books, it's illegal and they will seize it anyway. Or you could just live as a homeless person, and they might just forget about you. But is that really worth it.
It's much harder to control cash than if all money would be electronic.
You have to study the fiat money system in order to understand what I want to say. The only true money is gold and silver, that will never get worthless anywhere in the world.

What the Indians did was silly but has nothing to do with my aversion to electronic money.
