HP’s market share has slipped from 19 percent in the 2010 fourth quarter to 16 percent in the most recently completed quarter. Lenovo’s market share has grown to 14 percent from 10 percent in the same time period.
About a year ago, China-based Lenovo was in the 4th place among the world’s PC makers. Trailing only U.S. based Hewlett-Packard (HP) Lenovo has become the world’s second-biggest PC vendor pushing out Dell and Acer. Not too pleased with the position Lenovo has declared war on HP. Lenovo intends to take another step further by shifting the global axis of PC industry completely to China even with China making majority of the PC we use today.
