China wont be able to use the GLONASS system as it is being developed jointly with India.India can bar China from usign it if it sees a threat.

The idea is not for China to use Glonass, rather selling these PGMs for export reasons to countries which may be able to use any of the 3 systems mentioned.

Its been confirmed by the Chinese themselves that the PL-12/SD-10 will have better performance envelope than their existing AA-12s.

Well now here he says the tech used is also mainly from the improved R-77, so whats this PL-12 all about.Its another R-77 with a chineese imprint.

There has been some ToT wrt the Russian missiles however the Chinese have been working on it for a good 9-10 years or so...(at least to me it does not look like a R-77 with Chinese imprint if this much research and testing has gone on the Pl-12 program), however regardless of the source of the missile tech, the key point is that it is intended to provide China with its own BVR solution in unlimited quantities (and in turn for PAF).
