Is your mind in the galaxy? or you think you are modern Confucian? What does it has anything to do with fake made in Vietnam from China? we have no desire to compete with Kenya in those number or rank or whatever they can come up with. I guess you know what I mean.:D

Oh so now you even blame Vietnamese by came up with an idea that it was Vietnamese made the label. What about the products inside?

The Chinese never admit anything. With or without evidences. Similar like spratly and paracel islands.

Vietnamese sellers they aint have that kind of luxury to make label those fake products. The Vietnamese sellers find the cheap products to sell for high return. They careless of where it is made, and how is it made. They only sell. They are not gonna invest in label things.

Don't underestimate your own people. Business people will find ways to increase profit, even to the point of mislabeling products. Vietnamese are no exception.

As for those islands, there are plenty of evidence to show they are the property of China.

The real answer: if this was real news, how come only Vietnamese papers report it? Any negative news about Chinese is instantly reported in global media.

Type in google made in vietnam fake from china you will find bunch and best to contact the author. You sure will have the the answer ur seeking for.

This thread is so hilarious , Chinese merchants sure know how to do business, they don't want to bruise Vietnamese's ego with "made in China: label so by putting "made in Vietnam" label will make the product easy to sell in Vietnam and gave vietameses a sensation that they should be proud of "made in Vietnam" product so they can bragg to the neighbors about Vietnam's achievement and incite them to buy more chinese product with fake label:rofl:.

so the burden of proof falls on my shoulder, I don't even speak in your Nam's language. :(

put aside this question for a moment, I noticed an stamp on the product, so there's official regulations in Dai Nam market and could these market surveillance and regulations possibly acting as a tradebarrier too? you know, not necessarily aiming to protect Nams from claimed Chinese toxic rice cooker, but focus more on warding off competitive foreign firms and protect the not-so-competitive local manufactures and Nam-made. in this case, this news could aslo be just an old fashioned trade protection scenario right?

Yes yes we have heard enough about MIC products being bad. You get what you pay for, you can't hope a 1 dollar item which made at the cost of cents to have the quality an iPhone has. Were the people who were selling these products Chinese? If they were, kick them out of Vietnam, if they are your people, then it punish them however you like.

One interesting thing, you won't go to China to import things made in Vietnam if you are from Vietnam, unless you have done it intentionally. If you are a HONEST Vietnamese business man, you'd also find it strange if a Chinese business man is selling MIV products to him. Why have an unnecessary middle man? So unless the business is operated by Chinese (I doubt there are many of them left, whoever they are, I gotta say they have balls, making a profit risking setting a mob on oneselves, and a lot time the profit would be less than a dollar), Vietnamese have only themselves to blame. It will never stop even Vietnam and China stopped trading all together, who is stopping Vietnamese people make fake MIV products with things manufactured from other place as long as it is cheaper?? This is not oh CHINESE are soooooo evil, this is the sin of capitalism, Germany got it, Japan got it, Taiwan got it, China still get it, and it is your turn now.

So, get used to it and sort your own snit out, and stop fanning your nationalism and this hatred against China, eventually, it will be you who get hurt most.

You hear alot of talk from Chinese that Vietnamese monkey can't make squat. They can't make nothing...etc.
Why Chinese fake made in Vietnam products for? Is made in Vietnam product superior? Can you tell your Chinese fellows stop faking made in Vietnam.

With Vietnamese consumers turning their back on poor quality Chinese goods, many made-in-China products are being distributed in the Southeast Asian country under fake labels claiming they are locally manufactured.

The fake products can easily dupe consumers as they have attractive and eye-catching designs and packaging, according to an official from a government-run committee that combats smuggling and trade fraud known as Committee 389.

“The substandard products are sold to Vietnamese consumers at high prices and without warranty,” the official said. “They dampen the domestic manufacturing sector.”

A wide variety of Chinese products are being sold as ‘made in Vietnam,’ from footwear and cosmetics to consumer appliances and electronics.

The counterfeit products either have their made-in-China stamps and labels replaced in Vietnam, or have the bogus labels stamped upon them during the production process in China, according to Committee 389.

The Ho Chi Minh City market surveillance agency has recently detected a batch of products including more than 3,000 items of clothing, footwear, purses, and mobile devices. The products were stored in large sacks and have famous brand names such as Nike, Gucci, and Versace.

But officers found that around 1,500 pairs of Nike shoes have made-in-Vietnam labels placed along with stamps saying they were actually manufactured in China.

Committee 389 has also caught four trucks carrying 100 tons of goods from China to a northern province.

The products, including apparel, motorbike parts, electric bicycles and home appliances, were all made in China but many of them feature fake Vietnamese-made labels, according to officials.

Some of the home appliance products even have the fake labels saying that they were made in Hanoi’s outlying district of Ha Dong and bear bogus conforming-to-regulations stamps.

It is much easier to alter the product origin for products like clothes and footwear. To turn a Chinese shirt into a made-in-Vietnam one, all it takes is placing a fake label on it.

Most of the products available at Kim Bien or An Dong markets in Ho Chi Minh City are Chinese-made, but traders always claim they were manufactured locally.

The Ho Chi Minh City market surveillance agency has seized thousands of fake labels of Vietnamese and famous international brands from traders at Tan Binh market who placed them on Chinese products to dupe consumers.

Vietnam replacing China to become counterfeit goods hot spot

Do Thanh Lam, Deputy Head of the Market Management Agency, an arm of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that counterfeit goods available in the domestic market are either made domestically or imported under the mode of CBU (complete built units) or knock-down parts.

“We have found companies which provide counterfeit goods so similar to the authentic goods that only the real manufacturers can discover the frauds after applying specific professional measures,” Lam said.

A report of the Market Management Agency revealed that 10,500 cases of counterfeit goods production and distribution were found in 2010, for which the violators were forced to pay total fines of VND44.4 billion. These figures rose to 14,000 cases and fines of VND62.01 billion in 2013.

Nguyen Thanh Hong, a senior official of the National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP), commented that as Vietnam is the next-door neighbor of China, a “counterfeit goods power”, it is understandable that more and more counterfeit goods have been penetrating the border gates.

Phan Minh Nhut, a high ranking executive of Nike, noted that counterfeit goods manufacturers tend to relocate their production bases to Vietnam because of the increasingly high labor cost in China.

Besides, China, well known as a counterfeit goods producer and exporter, always sees its export products examined carefully by importers, especially European ones. This has prompted the Chinese manufacturers to make products in Vietnam instead of China to avoid such strict examination.

Hong from NOIP cited statistics from US Customs as establishing that of the total counterfeit goods seized in the US every year, 70 percent are from China and one percent from Vietnam.

Therefore, Hong has urged appropriate agencies to “take actions” to prevent Vietnam from following the Chinese way of making counterfeit goods.

“Vietnam is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and it will soon be a member of the Trans Pacific Partnership. Hence Vietnam will have to obey the rules on intellectual property,” Hong said.

Observers have noted that some “counterfeit goods villages” are already taking shape in Vietnam. These are the suburban areas of Thai Binh, Nam Dinh and Vinh Phuc Provinces, which can provide counterfeit goods in large quantities.

However, Lam noted that the majority of Vietnamese businesses have been uncooperative with state agencies in combating counterfeit goods. Only big enterprises or multi-national groups have signed agreements with the agencies on the joint forces to prevent counterfeit goods.

“In some cases, real manufacturers don’t want to provide information to appropriate agencies because of concerns about the consequent publicity. The fear that an awareness of counterfeit goods would make consumers turn their backs on their products,” Lam said.

According to Hong, only 490 Vietnamese businesses have registered to join the Madrid System, the international system allowing businesses to search and register trademarks in up to 92 countries. This is evidence that intellectual property rights are not a top priority for Vietnamese businesses for now.

Chinese send people into space, why do Chinese need to mislabel their products as Made in Vietnam when Vietnam can barely manufacture a bicycle?

Its like a millionaire wearing a custom Armani suit putting a Calvin Klein and Walmart logo on his clothes. It makes no sense.

Do you honestly think that counterfeit goods are only produced in China?

Nobody in this thread called Vietnamese monkeys or insulted their skin tone.

Inferiority complex manifests itself in interesting ways.

Why you chinese so angry and put all blames to vietnam when it is about ur fake made in china damage vietnam economic. What is wrong with the chinese ? It should be another way around.

I doubt this news is credible. Many things do not add up. Like one member pointed out, the label indicates there was a sort of regularization. Why did they allow it to happen?

If the news is true, then you should blame your corrupt officials and greedy businessmen, first. Keep them in check. Regulate them. Cut down on corruption and nepotism.

Because, it is not the first time that greedy manufacturers produce overseas or simply import and then put domestic label on the product to increase sales. Every country has their fondness for indigenous products. Patriotism.

It happens with textile and electronics mostly.

We faced an infestation of such type couple of years ago here on pdf. Just report them :)

The mods banned such racists wretches permanently ;)

We have been facing such racists on daily basis and keep reporting them. Things have not changed a bit.

And we do not care what kind of wretched existence Indians suffer in that filthy land.

I'm not putting the blame on anyone,it doesn't matter what ethnicity or nationality produces the counterfeit product.

Just like the rest of the world there are corrupt/greedy/unscrupulous businessmen in China.

I can't speak for the other members but from what I sense is that some doubt the veracity of the report while others comment that counterfeit products also require the cooperation of middlemen and local officials.

Instead you focus on strawman arguments such as Sinocentrism, racism, intelligence etc.
