NEW DELHI: Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi arrived in India Thursday evening in the highest-level visit between the two countries after the ties came under severe strain following the eastern Ladakh standoff nearly two years ago.
Wang flew into New Delhi from Kabul and is set to hold talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Friday morning.
It is learnt that the Chinese foreign minister's unannounced visit is more to do with the geopolitical powerplay in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine with China even signalling its willingness to assist Moscow in dealing with crippling economic sanctions.
Both sides kept the visit under the wraps. It is not immediately clear whether the Indian side will facilitate a call on by Wang with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As per media reports this meeting is mainly to find out and agree upon ways on how to bypass western sanctions on both countries dealings with Russia

. . . .
Few days ago there was a claim that Indians are planning to use yuan when doing deals with Russians.

India has now set up rupee ruble account for the trade with Russia.

Interesting development. Hope more details are revealed in near future. :coffee:

China and Chinese should not invest in India especially in the areas of high tech, energy and infrastructures becos India sees China as a sworn and strategic enemy, India is a member of the anti-China QUAD and is colluding with the evil US against China, period. Let supa pawa India develop itself.

Alliance between the countries of this region is natural and win win for everyone. If Pakistan, India and China can put their differences aside for 100 years, this region has a lot of potential. However, I do not think that hawks in our region who nurture and retain power on the basis of hate would be interested in this.

Tell that to your foreign minister :coffee:

Perhaps it's due to the erratic Indian missile launch, everyone in the region must be concerned that a nuke missile might end up in their territory.

If an erratic India fire an Indian made missile at Pakistan, than Modi must contact China, Afghanistan, Iran as this missile might land in any of these countries. But Pakistan should be safe.

The recent Brahmos missile was aiming at China, so it landed in Pakistan.

Instability of Indian nation is at an all time high. With oppression of minorities, lack of security in regards to missile systems, their prime minister referencing advanced stealth radar systems via clouds and shooting down their own aircraft, all the while escalating border disputes has raised concerns for their immediate neighbors.

India has some explaining to do to China for behaving like a schizophrenic teenage girl.

Not every country is dependent on China.....How many area of high tech etc has China invested so far in India?...

On anti-China Quad.....do you think Chinese are angels?..... they recently signed deal with Solomon Island (in Australia's vicinity) to establish a naval base.....acts like this further justify alliances like QUAD.
