I am confused. The One child policy produced more boys than girls. There are consquently more men than women. In conversation with Chinese girls, thay tell me it is 'easy' to find a boyfriend in China.

Exactly what is happening? Simply an age factor?

The social and demographics problems are much more widespread and serious than the Chinese members on this forum care to admit. Keep in mind that they are here to try to portray China in as positive a light as possible. But the imbalance between the sexes in China is serious enough that the Chinese government have -- for starter with the relaxation of the one-child policy -- begun to study other options, such as immigration allowance.

It is estimated that there are over 30 million men who CANNOT find mates. Not 'will not be able to' but simply CANNOT as in no women for them at all. That figure is larger than the population of some countries.

The other contributor is cultural. Women of any society want to 'marry up' and Chinese women are no different. If there is an excess of men, that is even more in the women's favor. Dating is one thing, but marriage is a different category. At the very least, the demand is steady employment, a car, and a home. If a man cannot show these three, a dating life is all he will get.

Yep, as I thought. It is harder for the men. Women can't find a husband because they want a high status man, and for low-status men it is the death knell!

How much do you know China? Guys always have more choices than girls here, as I mentioned, it's uncommon to see a guy marrying a girl who is 10 or more years younger than him, but rarely see a girl marry a much younger guy, that means for guys a whole younger generation of girls are availble for their marriage while that's not true for girls, how hard is it for you to understand it?

In a very general and simple analysis, poor countries tend to have early marriage, including high rate of under-age child marriage, which resulted in small percentage of adult single persons above age of 30.

Also, in countries where female workers are gaining larger share of career market, they tend to marry late because of job commitment.

In countries where the social status of women are low, and the society consider the aim of marriage is to produce children and having a home worker to cook, wash laundry and other house chore. Single women are in short supply.

Lastly, in countries where polygamy is allowed under the law, one male can married several girls, which left few un-married women above 30 years old.

Either there are Vietnamese girls willing to marry Chinese farmers, or they are not willing. If former is true, there is no need for abductions. Of course there could be isolated women abduction. But that exist everywhere. Include US. But this won’t be systemic or consistent abduction that you made out to be.
