Chinese firm seeks to operate 300 modern buses in Punjab
He said that Chinese leadership has expressed full confidence in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and agreements of investment of billions of dollars have been signed in Beijing during his recent visit to China. Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government is taking solid measures for the provision of comfortable, economical and speedy transport facilities to the citizens. He said that after Lahore, metro bus project in Rawalpindi is in the final stages of completion. He said that more than one lakh and sixty thousand passengers travel by metro buses daily in Lahore. He said that government is striving for improvement of public transport sector. The Chief Minister welcomed the interest shown by the Chinese company in operating modern buses in Punjab besides setting up an assembling plant of buses. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Huanghai Bus Company, Wang Ming Chun said that Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has taken effective measures for the progress and welfare of the masses. He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken commendable steps for the improvement of transport sector. He said that his company wants to ply modern buses in Punjab and is also interested in setting up an assembling plant of buses. Chairman Lahore Transport company Kh. Ahmed Hasaan, Chairman Planning & Development, Managing Director Metro Bus Authority, Secretary Industries, Commissioner Lahore Division, District Coordination Officer Lahore and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
