Chinese exports in surprise drop, but imports jump

Import growth adds to our consumption. This shows while exports are struggling our domestic economy is strong as consumption is rising. Very good news.

It is time for India to take over as the world's number one exporter. Be gone with the evil cheap Chinese copycat fake products!

Wow.. now even the greatly Obambam now steps down to the level of 50 cent army... amazing.

. . .
So, China's trade surplus has dropped from almost $100 billion per month to $15 billion. I think it's not at all a good sign. Bad for manufacturing and leading towards trade deficit.

50 cents in Renminbi can feed 95% of the Indian population for a week.

Not exactly, but you aren't too far off either. If one were to consume 3.5 kg of rice in a week (500 gms per day), about 10.50 rupees would buy it in India under the food security law, to about 66% of the population.

Can 1 yuan feed anyone in PRC for a week ? Perhaps, it will buy you coal, but not rice.

Best of luck surviving on coal, till it lasts.

Don't pull figures out of your arse, the preceding months China had trade surpluses of (USD Billions) 27 in june, 17.8 in July, 28.5 in August and 15.2 in september.

Back in march, China even had a deficit.
