Most trains are for both short hops and long haul, with their scheduled stops staggered to cover more stations.

There is however a dedicated short-hop train called CRH6. You can find photos of it on page one. It has a slower top speed of 155 mph (250 km/hr).

The CRH6 series（A、F and S) are designed for traveling between cities within a city cluster such as the Pearl River Delta centred on Guangzhou or the Yangtze River Delta centred on Shanghai。China currently has 4 or 5 city clusters，each consisting of up to 20 urban centres，including medium-sized（population over 1 million）cities、metropolises（5-10 million）and megalopolises（15 million or more）。
