Chinese coast guard opens fire on Vietnamese ship

Just have the guts to fire at unarmed fishing boat, nothing news :coffee:

If they shot your nay ships, then you will come up here and spreading propaganda blaming China bullying you or massacre your Vietnamese whatever just like what you have done on PDF.

1988 is the great example, you may not know that if you are too coward to admit your painful shameful truth.

And it allies the shame to those blatant whining Korean either, ask Kim Jong il how that bastard sunk down the superior South Korea Imperial Navy warship by only a shot.

Cheonan sinking

We show no mercy to anyone who dares to invade our land. :sniper:

Next, it is the time to blow up the South Korean ship. :china:

It is the must!

130,000? Ummm...LOL...Please provide the sources where you get this information?...oh, and do not provide Chinese sources...

Here is a Chinese video source of 400 Vietnamese soldiers dead in battle and 1 injured PLA marine. China's superior and overwhelming firepower demolished the Vietnamese military with impunity. Chinese estimates of the Sino-Vietnam war casualties are the closest to the truth. This video proves it.

On the high seas, the PLAN frigates used their 37mm and 100mm main guns to pound the Vietnamese. On land, the PLA used tanks and howitzers to annihilate any concentration of Vietnamese troops. The Vietnamese were no match for Chinese firepower (see video below).

vietnam should trying stop fight china. china has always be vietnam's giant and more powerful neighbor since written history and will remain so well into the future. i honestly believe china and vietnam can set aside any differences and come together again like in past.

If Vietnam and Turkey or South Korea in sea conflicts, I bet those countries would act more violent and nasty to each others. At least the Viets could be smashed to pieces under the hell fire by those Turks or Korean mad-dog coast guards or something.

China treats your Viets too nice, don't try to climb up to her head and sit on the top of it! :sniper: :guns:

I also hope this can become true.

However, many Vietnamese members have some unrealistic wet dream, instead of following China's lead, they are dreaming to annex China's territory and to displace China in the future.

China simply cannot take this kind of hostile attitude as the friendship.

This is what one of your fellow Chinese wrote:

Yes, Vietnamese are push-overs. Did you know PLA killed 130,000 Vietnamese in just 28 days when we fought then in 1979?

I asked for legitimate sources that are not cooked up by the Chinese regarding the 1979 war and you attempt to show me a video that has nothing to do with it. I take it you and your fellow Chinese don’t have the proof to back it up.

Since I cannot yet post the link you can read it from this article and many others that exist out there…

Perry Anderson on the 1979 Chinese Invasion of Vietnam

Militarily, it was a fiasco. Deng threw 11 Chinese armies or 450,000 troops, the size of the force that routed the US on the Yalu in 1950, against Vietnam, a country with a population a twentieth that of China. As the chief military historian of the campaign, Edward O’Dowd, has noted, ‘in the Korean War a similar-sized PLA force had moved further in 24 hours against a larger defending force than it moved in two weeks against fewer Vietnamese.’ So disastrous was the Chinese performance that all Deng’s wartime pep talks were expunged from his collected works, the commander of the air force excised any reference to the campaign from his memoirs, and it became effectively a taboo topic thereafter. Politically, as an attempt to force Vietnam out of Cambodia and restore Pol Pot to power, it was a complete failure. Deng, who regretted not having persisted with his onslaught on Vietnam, despite the thrashing his troops had endured, tried to save face by funnelling arms to Pol Pot through successive Thai military dictators.

You chinese should read this book:

Chinese Military Strategy in the Third Indochina War: The Last Maoist War (Asian Security Studies)

From Edward O’Dowd, a chief military historian, it is the latest comprehensive and well-researched works on the 1979 war…for the Asian Security Studies. And stop believing in the crap that came out of China. In fact, according to many historians, the war was so disastrous for the PLA that China removed all the remnants of the war from China’s history. Hu Jintao even asked the Vietnamese government to remove the event from Vietnam’s history because China does not want anyone to know. So I find it funny that some Chinese netizens, who probably had never read a book for years, want to bring up something that the Chinese government wants to hide.

It is common military knowledge that the side with the superior military technology will inflict heavier losses on the more primitive adversary. In the earlier video, we have already seen the PLA Navy annihilate 400 armed Vietnamese marines with no losses to itself.

Similarly, in the following video, we see China unload rocket barrages and heavy artillery on the primitive Vietnamese army (which lacked multiple-rocket launchers and heavy artillery). Given China's massive advantage in advanced military technology and weaponry, those who claim China suffered greater losses is engaged in propaganda.

In the following video, you will also notice China controls the high ground. The multiple-rocket launchers and heavy artillery are located on the ridge line and firing down at the vulnerable and exposed Vietnamese Army.

Agreed on the part about casualties. U guys lost like 15000 - 19000, which is way lower than what they lost.

Wrong. PLA lost more than 60,000 troops (ask NiceGuy for that source, it ain't Vietnamese source) in the Vietnam war. The figures will always be downplayed by CCP just as there was "no conflict after 62", or how Chinese "defeated the greedy Soviets in 69" or how Vietnam "won against imperialists because of Chinese help" etc etc.

You need to understand one thing; CCP will eradicate all records or news that shows them in a negative light.

Still, you failed to achieve any objectives. Both sides claimed victory and Vietnam did not withdraw from Cambodia till 1989. So how exactly did u 'teach them a lesson'?

They indeed taught a lesson to every neighbor: and that lesson was to never trust the Reds ever with your back turned.

A lesson learnt like this is better and be prepared for future conflict rather than be surprised one day. The biggest blunder CCP made was that it showed its cards way too early and alerted entire Asia of its motives.

EDIT : I checked again and found out 100 000 Vietnamese deaths were civilian deaths due to Chinese scorched earth policy while withdrawing. Seems the PLA's idea of teaching lessons is by killing unarmed civilians in countrysides.

That's all they can do.

In that case you shouldn't be really hoping for a Pakistani/Taliban victory at all considering the difference of technology both sides have at all then...

Why have a two-faced theory that contradicts itself?

It is absolutely astounding to me that some Western book writers like to spread propaganda. They claim China suffered heavier losses during the Sino-Vietnam War. This is a preposterous claim.

During World War II, the Nazi's used blitzkrieg or local superiority in firepower and inflicted an average of 3 Allied casualties for the death of every Nazi soldier.

However, when China employs the same advantages of heavy artillery and tank columns in Vietnam, the so-called Western military experts now claim the Vietnamese defenders (armed mostly with small guns only) inflicted heavier losses on the heavily mechanized PLA. That's hogwash and I call it anti-China propaganda.

All of the Sino-Vietnamese War battle videos have shown the application of classical military strategy by China against Vietnam. When Germans used classical military strategy, they inflicted 3 to 1 losses on the Allies. When China employs the same classical military strategy, Western experts claim the opposite. Only an idiot would believe such claims.

In the following video, we see the classic military strategy of softening your enemy's defenses with barrages from Chinese artillery. Afterward, the PLA overran the Vietnamese military position.

Here's what happened at the battle of Cao Bang. Chinese heavy artillery pounded Vietnamese defensive positions. The Vietnamese Army took heavy losses and had to withdraw in the face of Chinese firepower. Afterward, the PLA overran Cao Bang and kept pressuring the retreating Vietnamese military.

There were hundreds of Cao Bang-type battles during the Sino-Vietnam War. It is not possible to conclude that China suffered heavier losses. Any sane observer would reach the expected military observation that Vietnam could not continue to absorb losses from the devastating effects of Chinese heavy artillery and tanks.

The Vietnamese Army absorbed as many losses as it could withstand and then had to run/retreat. The Vietnamese Army would dig in at another location. When the Chinese PLA finally caught up to the Vietnamese Army, the entire process would be repeated again.

In other words, the Vietnamese Army suffered much heavier losses because it was outgunned by the PLA. No amount of propaganda can change this fact.
