Wow so random anyway breath of fresh air i think your think of an aswang its not a ghost at all its creture that eats peoples insides espcially babies insides of pregent women with their long tongues its just a story to terrify young childern to go home early.

The tagalog name the Filipino guy told me was long, sound maybe like that one "mananangal" mentioned earlier. But the wiki description does not match what I saw.

What I saw was real, not just a story to scare kid. I first thought it was only a dream/nightmare I had, but then later realised lots of people from different parts of the world have seen it too, with very very similar description. So it can't be a dream.

The friend I was chatting with, her auntie saw one too long ago. So I'm trying to give her proves it's real dude.

I have to be honest, I am not mostly aware of Philippine ghosts stuff...

Really who cares marami pa gusto pumunta dito (a lot of people still wanna go here) Why waste time with them so they are thrid who cares what the Japanese, Koreans and Americans are leaving? NO if they were leaving we should be worried but only the Chinese are leaving so what?

hmmm maybe that. But the descriptions we told each other was very specific. Shadowy figure standing/sitting in the corner of your room stalking you with glowing red eyes.

Google "shadow people", it also fit our exact description. Whatever this thing is, they are real and exist around the world. Lots of people seen the exact same thing, including in the Philippines (at least that's what I was told).

I was in bed in the middle of the night. Yes I know what you're talking about, sleep paralysis. My body was frozen but I can still open my eyes, and that's when I saw the shadow ghost.

I knew back then all about the scientific explanation for sleep paralysis. That's why I first thought it was only a dream. But then later found out lots of people have seen these shadow people. Too many people have seen them for it to be a coincident. And I've never heard about these shadow people before when I saw one.

Attracting tourist from the West would be good though I doubt my former co-workers will be happy about it as encoding names of some Western people can be a bummer.

the Philippines is generally a peaceful and beautiful country, @Edison Chen . Only some areas in the southern philippines that should be carefully avoided. People like us stand out from the general population; being we are East Asian in appearance and will undoubtedly be seen as foreign tourists. So best to stay away from conflict zone.

Not only in sourtern area, there is no such different of it being happening in the south or north....according to all the recent year cases. So, yeah, stay away is the best solution.

I am not rich, I work on the construction sites, carrying bricks and making cement, I earn very little. But you, Viet, you are a super rich man, your annual income is just a dream for all of us. The thing is why would he go into southern Mindanao? Even my Filipino friends from Cebu and Bohol even warned me about going to southern Mindanao, rather encouraged me to travel around the Visayas and northern Mindanao. There are even Filipinos who don't want to visit Mindanao. Common sense should be practiced by tourists. For one's own safety!

That was an unfortunate affair in 2010, and many prayerful and deep condolences to the families of the victims.
