China and Pakistan recently carried out a joint army patrol near the border of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) connecting with China's Xinjiang province.

People's Daily Online on Thursday published several photos of the Chinese and Pakistani armies carrying out joint patrolling near China-Pakistan border, which runs through Gilgit-Baltistan region in disputed territory of Azad Kashmir. The joint patrol was carried out by defense regiment of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and border police force from Pakistan.
The state-owned online website did not give extensive details about the joint patrol, or what prompted the joint military activity. Reports in other Chinese media suggest that the joint patrol may have been carried to control insurgency among Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang region. Over the years, the region has witnessed heightened insurgency among resident Uyghur Muslims.

US think-tank New America Foundation on Wednesday claimed that 114 Uighurs Muslims have sneaked away from Xinjiang region to join Islamic terrorist organization ISIS, according to Times of India.

India Won't Be Amused With Joint Patrolling Report

India is likely to be irked by the report of the joint patrol of the Chinese and Pakistani armies near Azad Kashmir, as India is laying claim over the Himalayan region. Traditionally, New Delhi has been critical of close ties between Beijing and Islamabad.

Analysts in India claim that latest joint military exercise clearly conveys China's intent to increase its influence in Azad Kashmir. China is already in the middle of increasing its footprint in the disputed region with the ongoing construction of a $46 billion corridor. New Delhi has complained about the ambitious project.

The China and Pakistan's Fresh military initiative near Azad Kashmir also comes in the wake of growing unrest in Indian-administrated Kashmir. The Indian government has directly blamed Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI for the latest unrest in Kashmir.

This joint patrolling has nothing to do with Indian issue. Its only controlling the flow of Chinese muslims to join ISIS. Lately, Chinese media announce over 100 Chinese Uyghurs join ISIS. If Indian make up issue out that, then its different story.
