There is nothing wrong with democracy as a theoretical system but it requires a highly educated and stable middle class as well as institutions (such as news media) that balance and curb the power of elites and China is probably decades away from that point. Today's USA is not a good example of democracy but 1960s 1970s USA was not bad at all.
